Yeah a kind of Tyler the Ripper with a victim every fortnight.

    Let's see.. Bosco, Gwen, Orla..

Orla seems to be everywhere she shouldn't be. This moral guardian with zero credibility on that score.

Fair City need to realise the big storylines should not be resolved off screen.

Why introduce the Pete addiction story if they haven't the capabilities of writing some sort of conclusion to it.

It comes across so amateurish. A bit 'Ah fcuk it lads we can think of nothing. Just bring the Pete lad back cured.'

When the TY students who write the storylines switch every Month... its like a badge of honour to just abruptly drop the storylines of the previous crowd. A kind of an F U, boom, mike drop, fo rizzle my shizzle type thang 🤙🎤

Ah I know… but Im just saying anyone in Tylers situation in real life would stay the hell out of the area and not fuel the fire, wouldnt they 🤣

I could buy him hanging around. He is either genuinely deluded himself into believing he is innocent or he is that cocky he committed the perfect crime that he is free to keep taunting/teasing them. Likely why he confessed to Ciaran knowing damn well Ciarans own instabilities would mean he has near zero credibility.

I'm still not convinced he killed her. If he gets bumped off it will probably kill the story so it sits on a shelf for a future story to wrap up the real killer unless they forget about it as normal though.

Tonight's episode was pure muck even by FC standards.

Agreed, and I can't stand Tyler's acting style. I'm waiting for him to start doing Shakespeare or similar. Way over acting. So it looks like he's getting killed with a whodunit run into Christmas possibly.

I know Dolly is only a minority share holder in McCoy's, but if she can decide who works there then surely she can decide who drinks there. It's beyond a joke that she hasn't barred Tyler from the pub. You'd think Mairead would ban him from Spar, Carol ban him from The Station considering his past actions there, Dolly ban him from McCoys and Hughie ban him from the Hungry Pig then that'd basically put a limit on the number of places he can hassle them. Paul has already enforced his right refuse Tyler service in Vinos.

@con747 His acting style annoys me too. He actually reminds me a bit of Ian Bailey the way he talks and carries on.

Tyler reminds me of Billy Murphy from the Young Offenders. Just something about him.

Has the medical centre changed, last Anna was outside covering a bar style reception desk when Cass and Bosco needed appointments, is Pete thrown in there now to show his addiction is still around so to steal tablets

James and Hayley gone back to the shed. Just as well or Damo would strangle both given the mood he's in these days.

So, I thought "The Site" that burned down belong to James and Hayley was the only site in Carrigstown and contained the office that Con, Maxine, Hayley and James all used in the past. But now Greg, Con and Maxine's cousin are using the office even though the site it's on is surely a burnt out shell and dangerous to be walking through and it's miles away from the site they actually work on?

It's definitely the site in Carrigstown alright : Greg was on his lunchbreak in Spar when he bumped into Rafferty.

I thought the new site was supposed to be in Drumcondra but the writers just handwave away any sort of fine details in these storylines.

The medical centre has always had two receptions for some reason. There's the smaller one that is directly off the street and then the bigger blue one from tonight's episode. Very strange layout and presumably a limitation in available sets, if one isn't available they use the other maybe?

Hey stop this commonsense talk, right away... this is the Fair City thread !!!

If Tyler gets barred from all the premises in Carrigstown how are we ever going to engineer meetings between him and the rest of the cast??

There's only soo often you can bump into someone on the street or in the Park (even for Fair City)

The Fair City set designers blew the budget on the explosive 'fire' scenes and the recent highly dramatic 'prison' scenes 😂😂😂

They have been forced to re-use the original Rafferty portacabin as the new building site office. (location unknown) and the Medical Center has always been a bit of an enigma... lets just leave that there.

The building site must be in Carrigstown. Greg, Rafferty and the new site manager were in Spar at the same time and Greg said he was on his lunchbreak from the site (which begs the question as to what Rafferty is supposed to be building, if not the apartment complex).

Rafferty had a clause in the contract when selling to Hayley & James to keep the use of the site office but it makes no sense to not have a site office on a new building site if not against health and safety regulations. Where Carrigstown is supposedly in Dublin is bordered by Drumcondra where the new building site is supposed to be so a short enough walk to the spar but still makes no sense.

Well there'd be nothing stopping him from bumping into them in the community centre and the park outside Peggy's tea room and the street that Brewzers is on. So there's still plenty of places for him to loiter. I just wish they'd put a bit of realism into it and have Dolly and Mairead ban him from McCoys and Spar at least. Funny how Paul is the only one that banned him but is also the one that needs customers the most

Tyler (Peter Gaynor) will be 50 in December. I think he looks fresh for that. I thought around 38.

of course not, sure it’s only the boggers outside the pale who want the “Tay” the dooobliners are all into walking about aimlessly holding coffee cups, or at least in carrigstown 😵‍💫

I think Anna ordered tea today. In the Hungry Pig of all places. Poor Veronica must be out of business if Anna, Pete and Gwen were going to the Pig for their teas and coffees numerous times the last couple of episodes.

Looks like they got the gym set back. Thought they'd lost it given the amount of exterior scenes and just mentions of it they've had over the last year. I thought there was a bit of a spark between Gar and Babs in that ep.

A big hole in the Jess - Greg storyline is that she is fully entitled to claim either the Back to Education Allowance or Jobseekers whilst she's doing her college course (Greg is claiming that he now has to do two jobs to allow her continue in education). The whole system is geared towards people improving their prospects through education.

Would she be able to claim JSA ? Don't you have to be available and actively seeking full time employment?

Can they not at least make it a bit realistic when someone has a cup of coffee on there? they are tipping the cup all different directions and then when they place it down on a table it resonates a sound of an empty cup lol

Jess loses her job and then worries about finances yet heads in to Spar to buy a can of Red Bull for guts of €4 or so.

I notice there's a Deposit Return Scheme machine now at the side of Spar, the scheme seems to be throwing around money like the Saudi Royal Family lately. One of those machines is circa €10k.

Maybe RTE are actually using it to claim back 15cent at a time as part of their budgetary measures. Or maybe they're paying the cast in Deposit Return Vouchers nowadays 🤣

I presume she got it off Dolly since Dolly texted him to meet up in McCoys the episode before that and I think Dolly mentioned she got his number from Katie and Katie got it directly from Tyler when he handed her his business card. In fairness to the writers there's a clear chain there. Usually in a soap though every character's mobile number seems to inexplicably get airdropped into every other characters phone the moment they set foot in the community.

At least last year in Eastenders Sonia Fowler mentioned that there was an Albert Square WhatsApp group so that explains how everyone has each other's number.

In FC though I'd imagine Zoe's Community Watch scheme was a GDPR nightmare. Everyone writing their name and number on the sign up sheet. If Tyler was loitering around there he probably got everyone's number off that sheet

She would definitely be entitled to a weekly social welfare payment and allow attend her college course. The whole system is geared towards people improving themselves and their career prospects. The idea that Greg would have to fund her going to college is not correct (would be something of a bizarre arrangement too, given they are not even engaged, never mind married….not sure any young woman these days would be okay with the idea of having to rely on her bf for money and handouts).

Not While cohabitating. She would be Means tested against Greg's income. If he lived in a different house she could claim One parent family. They could probably get Working Family Payment but with only one child it wouldnt be much
