Arrived at my dentist 1 minute ahead of scheduled appointment time... traffic in my area was awful then two absolute crawlers boxing me in on the motorway doing about 7 under the limit... but made it and waiting…

Haha, agreed they are really cool. I met this little dude during the summer and he reminded me of a puppy (albeit a puppy with eight legs, fangs and huge eyes). He was really playful too, running in circles and happy to pose for pictures :)

Local NDLS center. Dealt with one of the most professional, efficient, confident, knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful individuals you could hope to meet in any public / state agency interaction…. The NDLS get some flack if you read some reviews and comments online but the person whom I dealt with was absolutely first class.

One of my local Aldi's has a cash self-scan! happy as it means I can regulate for at least a small amount of time the chemicals im exposed to. In turn, this means that I lessen my chance of a chest infection from my allergies.

Out for a walk one evening recently picking blackberries. Passed by a recent development to home Ukraine refugees.

Attracted by the laughter I looked over a tall hedge and there were a group of children aged between two and ten running around, playing with balls and bikes and behaving like children the world over.
In a world where daily we see children blown to bits in the interests or massive international conflicts it’s gratifying to see that our small country can provide sanctuary for a tiny portion of the most innocent of those involved.
I say this as a father and grandfather and am old enough to see the innocence of the beautiful children involved.

    Yorkshire puddings and baked potatoes.

    The beef came out perfect.

Abysmal day in work including being called a useless pr*ck by a customer for not yet sorting a job based problem that predates my employment by three years, even though id proactively rang him to let him know i had no update but was still working on it and wanted to let him know i hadn't forgotten the issue, a genuine courtesy call.

But it's Friday night, I've a whiskey, the people i care about, and a big bag of jellies and some telly.

All of my customers and all of my colleagues, all the kings horses and all the kings men, can suck my jelly strawberry devouring balls.

I rang my Dad earlier to ask him a very basic household wiring question that I already pretty much knew the answer to, but I'm fairly sure it made his day.

I saw a bee this am, buzzing away happily(and healthily) at an open window. I know it's late in the year for them to be out, but it's a happy change to see how healthy they are in comparison to the ones I honey-bathed to save their lives up to this year.

I dislike to use a tumble dryer (Irish mammy constantly telling me it would "eat" electricity) so I mostly use a clothes horse in my little flat.

Clearly I made some errors last year as there was too much moisture. The window frames would be wet and then a mould problem happened. I learned some life lessons with no damage done to the flat.

My TH is my little 40 euro from Amazon dehumidifier. Costs pennies to run and I run it constantly. Ok is not designed for a househould but my flat is small and it does fine for me. Constantly extracting water and keeping humidity down. All Irish households in our moderate, damp climate could do with a dehumidifier (doesn't have to be expensive) I think.

There is a slight breeze here and I just spotted one of the neighbours' cats stalking out next door's skeleton, I wonder how long it will last once cat attacks it for the moving about in the breeze the way it is.

Skint till payday in 2 days - noticed my insurance has yet to go out. Calls An Post, apparently I'm on DD paying over 10 months for 12 months cover and so no payment needed end of this month or next.

Gets confirmation of electricity credit going in next week or so.

Feel like Imelda Marcos here - bought a box of Lindor truffles and a Goodfellas pizza - 2 days before money goes in - normally living on dust and beans!!!!

yeah, the home insurance reprieve is great. I don’t have to pay anything in September, October & November. They do take two payments in December though (a week apart) with the next eight taken between January & August.

when we had boy dog, there was a grorg white and silver petit cat who sat on the oil tank which drove the dog cray cray.

I've seen her(I'm assuming that as she is so pretty and petit)maybe a handful of times since he was pts, today I spotted her hiding in a hollow in the flower garden(which makes her a smart cat too) so she could have a rest on the tank and have a good look at the spot leftover animal suitable foods are left.

Halloween party day at the local schools and some of the costumes roaming around are brilliant. Vampires, witches and cookie monsters abound. Even saw one kid dressed as a post box.

Personal favorite so far is the kid dressed as a scooby doo style ghost, and he had his glasses on outside the sheet :)

Great to see all the kids getting so much into the spirit of it and having great fun.

Got the last two packs of clothes covers, so now I can relax about all the open doors letting the food smell into the bedroom they live in.

Such a relief that my good work clothes(often needed immediately) will be odour-free when I need them.

Walking through the park while watching the gulls on the highest roof in the area, spotted three of them in a bunch cawing loudly, after a few seconds one walked away and the other two were still watching the ppl eating food on the seats below

One gull caws in a way that if I hadn't seen them myself, I would have sworn was a cat. I used to have a cat visit me who was excellent at mimicking human tones. It looks like the birds are learning now as well.

The idea of a gull sounding like a cat gave me a real th.

You should hear starlings! Each new generations "speaks starling" but as the migratory birds arrive they learn their calls, too, and copy them. Animals are amazing.

last night of the fireworks and bangers. Delighted.

I probably sound like an old curmudgeon but since the regeneration of the area in terms of new young families there are literally shítloads of kids now so between trick or treaters, fireworks and the odd heads with a little more nefarious intent… it’s going to be loud and busy…

I don't care how "live laugh love"/"wine o'clock" this sounds: I have a tradition of taking 1st November off work and watching at least one horror film with a bottle of wine every Halloween falling between Sunday and Thursday. I cannot believe I didn't christen it until now - it shall forever be known as Hallowine.

Working in a Costa for an hour or so this morning. TH that there are 4 women (me included) in the softly furnished area with laptops out, drinking coffees and teas and getting work done while some soft jazz (I think) plays. I could get used to this kind of Monday morning start to my week.

Not that it makes me happy that the cheese was stolen, but I don't know where else to post it. And I can't help but think do the perpetrators look like this?
