Pixel 8a or pixel 8

    Saw the pixel 8a for €439 today in store, is it worth it for this price ? Seen a regular pixel 8 in an independent phone shop near me for €529. Which would you go for ?

    Three have the Pixel 7 for €400, could be a better buy than the 8A at €40 more

    I did look at last year's 7 pro and almost bought it, but the Tensor 3 in the 8 is supposed to have better heat management. I did use the Pixel 7a and it had horrible over heating issues with my usage. Want to avoid the Tensor 2 chip.

    Got one last week. The main reason was the size. Reasonably priced Android phones are after getting too big. But I liked the size of this.

    Not happy with the battery at all. I've done everything I can to reduce battery use. Turning off apps running in the background, switching off wifi scanning, tracking etc. I'm not using it anymore than I would have with my 200 quid Samsung, but I went from 95% this morning to being completely dead by 4pm. Even just having the Internet on while not using it, drinks the battery.

    Really disappointed. Most expensive phone I've bought and the worst battery. Might finally have to unfortunately take the apple plunge sooner rather than later.

    That Battery consumption is not normal. Unless you're doing something heavy on the phone.

    Sorry, an 8a. Weirdly after a couple of days it improved. I did read somewhere that the AI adapts to the way you use the phone, or something to that effect. Since then, I have got a couple of days out of it, on more than occasion. Usually it's good for over 24 hours without very heavy usuage.

    I also did a factory reset, and installed less apps than had been on it. I had initially did the smart switch from a Samsung.
