Looking for inspiration for next year, probably June or August. We have been to Martinhal in Portugal and to Princess Yaiza in Lanzarote (3 times now, kids have loved it) but would like something else for a change.

Girls will be 6 and 11, decent kids entertainment is nb, nice hotel for us, ideally 2 seperate sleeping areas (a big plus for the Yaiza)

    Any recommentations?

Your kids are the perfect age for the Ferry/Campsite holiday in France. Lots of good information here

YOu do mention hotel, but i would also recommend a camp site. They are great fun for kids your ages.

What about Duinrell in Holland as well?

I would strongly recommend to look into cruises. Your kids are perfect age and newer/ bigger ships have soooooo much stuff to do. Kids clubs are great and loads of entertainment throughout the day for the whole family. And that’s on top of visiting new places almost every day. Have a look at MSC, I find them great, very family friendly and cheaper than Royal Caribbean. Check out seascanner.com, it’s like skyscanner but for cruises. I would take June over August, not as hot and not as crowded. Cruise cabins are generally on the smaller side but we find cabin with balcony works great for us, gives you that little bit extra space. Some newer ships have “family” interconnecting cabins. Or there are suites if budget allows.

Look into Sani in Greece if the budget allows. Fantastic set up for families - prices are steep though.

I've just booked to go to Crete next July. My eldest will be 12 & all she wanted was somewhere with good snorkelling. We were in Rhodes the year before which was great, apart from the food in the hotel! It was all inclusive with water park but we got quite bored with the slides after a few days. It was also crazy hot, we were there when the forest fires were happening & half the island was evacuated. It did mean the hotel was fairly quite as no new flights were coming in, otherwise I would say we wouldn't have liked it as much.

We went camping in France last year & coming back we all thought we'd do that again next year. It can be great but it can also be a lot. long Ferry & then depending where you go the drive after. We had a 6 hour drive to get to the campsite, it can make getting there a bit stressful but wouldn't put me off going again. If going further south I'd fly & hire a car if going again. It's great for kids though as the older kids can have a bit more freedom.

I looked at Dunirell but was shocked at the price & you also have to pay extra to use the pool while there which I couldn't believe.
