Hi I am looking for a new tv 55in +. We watch a bit of Netflix, saorview etc but no gaming. Would this tv be any good? I had an ambilight before and liked it.

    Hi Giner83.

The Philips 70" would be a great TV for the money.
It produces a nice image and the Ambi light feature sets it a part from the rest.

The 70PUS6724 is currently still in stock priced at 799 Euro. This includes delivery and our VIP 6 year guarantee free of charge.

However I notice that you say you are after a 55" but the link is for the 70"
The 55PUS6754 again a great value for money television coming in at 479 Euro. With shipping include and our 6 year guarantee free of charge also.

I would have the space for the 70inch. Could I ask would this pick up saorveiw with my aerial and would the saphi differ much from an android tv?

We really only watch saorview, freeview  and Netflix

    Hi Ginger83,

The Philips has a Freeview HD tuner so should pick up Saorview no problem!

If you don;t use many smart features you shouldn't lament the absence of Android too much. With the Philips operating system it's not as open, there is no Play store to add apps and it doesn't look quite as good for layout but it has the main apps included like Netflix, Youtube and Amazon Prime!

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David

    Hi David

That sounds great, if it can receive saorview I am happy enough as I have an android box for apps.

I will order the 70inch one so, thanks.

Hi guys. My 70 inch tv has been the business since I got it.
I was thinking of getting a soundbar but don't know much about them.
The tv is on a 1.8m unit so there is plenty of space, see pic.
    Budget €300

    Hi ginger,

Great to hear your TV is going strong and what a lovely room!

you have lots of space for a soundbar - the only issue is are you going to place it in front of the TV or are you planning to place it in the unit.

If you are popping it in front of the TV that will really restrict the selection as it would be better not to block the picture so have to be a really slim main unit - alternatively it would sit IN the unit?

If you have a think and decide where you would like it to be and give us the measurements for the height from your unit to the very bottom of your screen and also the interior of your unit - we will check out the alternatives for you ( we do have a sneaky alternative 'get out of jail' option up our sleeves which replaces your existing TV legs) ..

Thanks Ginger and keep us posted,

    ATVB,

Thanks for the reply. We were hoping to put it into the unit as there seems to be a space for 1.
I have measured the space to be 1600mm long by 120mm high by 140mm deep.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Ginger83,

Thanks for getting back to us!

The LG has a great Atmos sound but I think the Yamaha would be the best all rounder especially for depth of sound with the wireless sub!

Let me know what you think!

    Hi guys

I never got around to ordering a soundbar, life just got in the way (I have MND)

I'm hoping to get an up to date recommendation to suit my tv unit for a budget of €400 please

    Any sales coming up?

  • Company Representative Posts: 4,581 ✭✭✭Richersounds.ie: DavidS

Thanks for the post Ginger83, great to hear from you again.

Around that budget there are a few great soundbars to consider.

The first would be the Denon DHTS517 which is a fantastic soundbar - it has Dolby Atmos, eARC via HDMI, a wireless sub and Bluetooth for music streaming. It sounds fantastic and is a bargain at 328 euro:

    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-206030-denon-dhts517-black-soundbar-with-wireless-sub.aspx

I also have a couple of the LG Series 6 Bars left in stock which are a great mid range soundbar with Meridian Audio. It also has Bluetooth for music streaming and a USB input that you can add a stored media device to for music playback:

    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-207703-lg-series-6-bar-3-1ch-soundbar.aspx

If you can go a little above budget I also have the Sonos Beam - it's a great standalone soundbar that sounds great for films and also music. You can also build upon the Sonos system with additional components like a wireless sub or wireless rears and make it a multi room system:

    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-205768-sonos-beam-gen-2-black-6yr-compact-smart-soundbar-includes-6-year-guarantee.aspx

We do generally have a Black Friday sale with offers running through November but we are never aware of what will be in it in advance.

Please don't hesitate to drop me a post if you'd be interested in any of these options.

    Kind regards

    David

Thanks David, I presume the Sonas is the best pick of them all?

Would you have a link to wireless rears to suit it please?

  • Company Representative Posts: 17,584 ✭✭✭✭Richersounds.ie: Kenny

    Hi Ginger83.

The Sonos speakers that you can add in as rears would be the Sonos ERA100 which are priced at €269 Each.

These can be added in at anytime to give surround sound and you can also add in a subwoofer at alter date to get the full 5.1 setup.

Hi guys. Will the Sonas beam work without the app because the app is not finding it?

  • Company Representative Posts: 4,581 ✭✭✭Richersounds.ie: DavidS

Thanks for the post Ginger83 and I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your Beam.

You do need the app to set the Beam up but it's strange it's not finding it. s it the Gen2 version of the app you have downloaded? There is an older app that may not work properly but if you have the current version it should be able to find it and you can connect it to your wifi via the app.

I can also get you the Sonos Support number if you need it as they're usually great for remote support with their products?

    Kind regards

    David
