Fits in well with the general dowdy tone of Brendan's style. What's his wheeze this morning - the kids mental health will be irrevocably damaged by not being in school?? What an absolute load of mumbo jumbo rubbish. Who gave him that line - the teaching unions?

This show needs rotation of presenters, put Brendan on for a week or two but ring the changes then. Otherwise he'll have the listeners in a coma.

Ballsy sounds like a man desperately trying to NOT talk in a whiney Cork accent....but largely failing to achieve.

Agree with the rotation of presenters ..that guy Cormac O Hara who does the lunchtime bit after Ballsy is finished always impresses me ...like to see him getting a stint ....

"Moaning about their commute is all part of life." I dont know who that contributor is but she says this as if it's a good thing. The point being made is about the benefits of being flexible, you can still have your office but there's no reason to be chained to it 40 hours a week.

Not very familiar with her and dont think I've seen her but the host seemed to make a big deal of her youth, as if she was merely representing the Instagram generation. Sounded patronising but then she did come across as being well out of her depth on nearly all the issues.

I'm afraid I've tuned out of this show on RTE1 now. The presenter's voice is just so depressing, sorry about that.

Gone for me now.

Anyway, when O'Connor was on his mid term break back in Feb there was a woman presenting, can't for the life of me remember her name, but she was great IMV, bright and breezy, and articulate, just what's required for a weekend "magazine" show.

If she came back I'd give it another go, but we are in tough times enough at the moment, and yer man's voice would sink you down into the depths. IMO of course.

Agreed, between oconnor and the mutton dressed as lamb rte is a no go area at the weekends. Weekdays aren't much better mind !

Yeah, I'm gone too. I had warmed to Brendan over the past few years but he is no replacement for Marian Finnucan RIP, but who would be.
I saw someone else suggesting rotating presenters for this show and I can only agree that this might save it.
He doesn't do himself any favors with the same contributors, Alison O'Connor, whats her name Priestly and that virus expert from Trinity that is ever ever so boring to listen to as he sounds like he is prattling on even if the subject is serious.
Niamh Horan was another fave of his along with Brenda Power, nope, definitely that's me gone for sure.

I’d say Ballsy will line up Oliver Callan fairly soon as a guest, now that his ‘show’ shilling the Shinners has ended its run.

Lot of these ‘double jobbers’ and wannabes floating around recently, folk like Callan, Sarah McInerney, Fergus Finlay, and many many more clanking around the innards of the media barrel writing ‘columns’ for various papers and basically horsing out their own point of view.

The public need to be aware of these folk and take a good look at their background productions and be aware of their ‘views’.

Not suggesting anything nefarious of course, but just be careful and read with a critical view.

Excellent advice poster...all of these Dudes have hidden agendas...you have to be very much aware of the background.

All of these dudes also have agents who put them forward for panels such as this ...and in fairness to Ballsy the talent pool in Ireland is limited.

Ballsy still very much finding his feet ..understand the difficulties with the remote locating but the whiney accent will be the one that get's him the chop.

Could be right there Nevin, however if newspapers fade out I will have no sympathy as the majority have handed over their column inches to tossers who are just there to bunt out rubbish,and shill whatever wedge they get by lumping out popular opinion.

Far too many amateurs in sport given access to spout bile and horse schidt, the Liam Miller game and the outrageous attack on the GAA by folk who should know better being a case in point.
