Outlaws is patching out auto-fail states and forced-stealth in almost all missions, meaning if you're caught while sneaking, you can just shoot your way out. Or shoot your way in from the start and not bother with stealth at all.

    https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/star-wars-outlaws-is-dropping-forced-stealth-so-instead-of-being-reset-when-you-get-caught-sneaking-around-you-can-just-start-blasting/

"We know many of you enjoy the stealth approach, so it was important to us to preserve that playstyle while also giving you the freedom to decide how to tackle each mission," he wrote. "Ultimately, you'll have the choice to sneak, go in combat-first, or—my personal favorite—sneak until you're caught and then blast your way out."

Combat will also be enabled in "syndicate districts," which players previously had to sneak into if they weren't on good terms with the syndicate in question: Now, they'll be able to enter these areas peacefully if they've built up a good rep, sneak in as they could previously, or just hammer through.

You'd have to wonder how that messes with the progression and build of the game considering it was never designed for that from the start. I know they're giving the fans what they want, but even the gunplay didn't look interesting or progressive enough that it'd be fun to do either.

Still doubt the game is really worth playing, but at least they're not Concording the game off into the sunset.

How bad was it? I know forced stealth isn't liked but they didn't do it for MJ in Spider-Man or remember the likes of Ocarina of Time getting into the castle and many other games. I'd see through it if you lost a half hour every time you're caught bug if the sections are short and/or there are checkpoints, then it's grand.

But I guess giving the ability to fight if caught might be okay.

I'll do still need to get the game.

Cheaper on disk in Smyth's than on digital store. So if it is bad you can always trade it on.

Got this game free with some hardware. As a mostly non gamer it was not on my buy list. But since it's free I installed it anyway. I saw the 7+GB version 1.0.4 patch download on my PC two days ago. Still haven't started it though.

But I noticed a 1.0.4.1 patch of nearly 2GB downloaded this morning. Seems quite a large patch to a 2 day old patch? But I can not find any details on google as to what was in it or why.

Anyway, have some time around Christmas so I will probably binge play it around then and hopefully the patches have all been patched and repatched by then :)

2GB is nothing for a patch these days. STALKER 2 had a 140GB ‘day one’ patch this week.

Indeed. In and of itself 2 isnt much. It was just 2 less than 48 hours after their much touted version 4 patch that surprised me a little. Just wondered what it was is all.

But what do I know as I say I am not much of a gamer :)

This has dropped to €33 on disk in Smyth's. After the recent update its actually a good game.
