Yes, tried Chile also and everything there pointing to an address in Chile but then when I try to renew in either YouTube app or webpage it says they can't verify my country. Same process via Poland and get PLN prices via YouTube so all looks good there but would prefer the cheapest price (assuming it works long term) obviously

Above point by @CoBo55 maybe has some merit as my Premium was cut off yesterday 21st so now I'm trying to sign up again rather than extend.

Will keep plugging away as biggest gripe currently is YouTube Music with the adds and stalls asking for confirmation to continue as well as inability to work in background.

Tried the apple method with a 4K apple tv but can't find the option to subscribe in the youtube app

Try signing up to Poland then cancel and when in the cancellation period try moving to Peru.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,888 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

Tried a few vpns and while I could get them to show Peru on Google homepage, none of them were able to verify country on YouTube site.

Because of a cranky son, had to go ahead with move to Poland. €11.08 for family sub, nowhere near as bad as irish prices but still a jump from Indian prices.

Yeah I had the same problem with Peru and Chile. It seems to be hit and miss who it works for. Went with Poland myself. It's 'only' 3 times the price of Argentina 😅

Does Poland need to be done with Revolut card or can Visa debit work?.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,888 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

Think any card will work. But Revolut has slightly better exchange rate...

Close to biting the bullet on Poland as well

Easiest option. Very hit & miss with other locations / VPNs. We might be OK for the long haul, it being an established EU location and all that. No guarantees of course. €11 is not too bad, particularly if it's getting plenty of use by multiple members.

MOD: I have gone back dozens of posts and all I see is the same as the post above. Please either explain what you are offering or stop posting.

Just renewed with Poland after India finished yesterday. Took about two mins using tunnelbear on the phone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,839 ✭✭✭corcaigh07

Tunnelbear not working on iOS here, would desktop be better?

I assume he's offering premium, plenty seem to be happy with him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,237 ✭✭✭WestWicklow1

You're not following the thread. Everyone, except you, knows he's offering places on his premium account.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,662 ✭✭✭con747

I reckon a few have reported him for some reason. If it works out cheaper and people are happy to sign up via PM I don't see the issue. I'm sure he's making a few quid per sign up but at the end of the day if it's saving people money what's the problem. I see a hell of a lot worse on certain threads being allowed without question.

Personally I think all of the account sharing posts for Youtube, Disney or whatever should be in the bargain Alerts Requests forum.

I think it's fairly dead over there though. Very few active places left the way the site has gone.

I went back a long way and couldn't find their original post. If new people come on to the thread they probably won't know either. They should explain what they are offering.

Scottie has been offering spots for months or longer so it's well known by regular followers of the thread. I have no idea how much he is charging people but it obviously is cheaper than a regular sub. I know a few have challenged him about what's been offered but I think that's for a PM discussion and if people are happy with the deal that's their choice.

Has anyone got around the "we can't verify your country" message ? I've tried NORD VPN and Tunnel bear on Mac and windows when i go into renew membership I get local currency options in Peru ,Chile and UAE but when i try renew i get the "can't verify country message"

When i try on iPhone i can't even get local currency options I just get Irish euro prices.

If i click on the restart your membership link from e mail received from youtube i get offer not available when on iPhone and "couldn't verify country on laptop/macbook.

Is it worth trying from an android phone?

EDIT: Tried from an android phone same results.

    Any help appreciated.

Couldn't get Peru to work no matter what, signed up for Algeria using method described in post 3386 by ricimaki, works out at 11e per month so not too bad.

Seeing as you have iPhone, use the Turkey new apple id method. It's the cheapest working sign up at the moment.

Use Turgame or G2A to get iTunes gift cards to top up.

I have a Xiaomi mobile which has a second space feature. Let's you have two separate setups on one phone.

I downloaded tunnelbear and connected to moldovia. Set a new Google email. Downloaded YouTube and logged in with new email address. Bought YouTube premium paying with revolut normal. Got charged 99 Ukrainian which is 2.30 euro.

Now running YouTube premium on my work desktop using the new email address, listening to music on night shift and ad free

Confirmed Chile payment went through, 8.90 so more expensive than India but much cheaper than Ireland. Happy Christmas Google!

I tried to redeem that yesterday but looks to be only for new subscriptions and can only be used in Ireland according to the terms

got a month YouTube premium for €3 from GTG and working okay so far.
A year is €18 but not sure how trust worthy they are, so testing out a month.
