Bit of a dangerous game vs the Saints tonight.

Their record is not impressive but Packers need to nail down the game early as next up are the Vikes away in MSP.

There could be a certain element of complacency in this kind of a game.

Correct and right P…..must lay off the Argus 8.6 for a while

    Happy Christmas!

First shutout of 2024, albeit against the shorthanded Saints.

Fifth straight interception free game for Love.

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals! 🎉🏈

Oh come on you're probably secretly a little glad to see us take one when it didn't harm you guys much, the "rivalry" has been awful for a good decade or more now, and it would be a more fun time if both teams were good for a change! Hope Love is OK. I won't say I wish ye well in the playoffs but I do like his style of play, he's exciting to watch!

I stand by what I said! I can be magnanimous in watching the Lions do well, but I can't do it for your crowd or the Purple Devils.

Enjoy your moment, hopefully it's years before it happens again!

Well don't worry, you won't be seeing us do well for some time.

what a funny game that was. hopefully the players were holding back for the playoff's. i think the eagles will have too much for us, Lefluer has gotten ultra conservative and seems to be holding Love on a tight leash and going run heavy and our wideouts can't beat man press. Alexander is a huge loss on d and the pass rush has been poor the last 2 games. Hopefully we can do it but it will be hard to get the win.

Losing Watson will be huge I fear as he always draws two defenders and is an excellent blocker and all round excellent team player. There is no direct replacement for him with only Melton maybe able to match his speed but without his size and ability. It probably changes the offense in a similar way that losing Jaire changes the defence. A lot of questionable calls and performances yesterday but hopefully the players just knew even subconsciously that it was effectively a exhibition and will be more dialled in next week. I don't think the Eagles are exceptional but they will probably have too much for the Pack. Fingers crossed I'm wrong.

Win or go home, none of this “we must do better” crud.

    Leave it on the field.

    God. This is really bad

Yet still alive somehow..... I dunno. Defence keeping them alive, but going in the other direction it's been atrocious.

Im glad to see Phelan kicking well, but I'd prefer. Not to see him at all.

Defensive has been very good but Love is gifting them the ball back.

If love can tidy up his play then there is still a chance.

Eagles are decent, but fvck me Packers shot themselves in the foot several times. A hugely disappointing year, best lower ranked teams but flattered and were beaten by every good team they met all year.

The lead in to this game was bad, two losses and the Eagles were not the team we wanted to see.

Well beaten in the end , injuries hit us hard but we have a good way to go to really contend.

When you step back and look and everything this result wasn't at all surprising but there was definitely a game there to be won. The luck was really against them and they are still such a young team that probably are a few leaders short. So many things went wrong and yet they were only a score down entering the 4th quarter.

Opening drive fumble recovered by Nixon but call not overturned
    Missed FG
Slay interception that normally would have been contested or caught by Watson. Shouldn't be throwing it to Wicks there.
Doubs goes out with concussion again costing the team their best redzone threat.
Reed goes out costing the team their best receiving performer on the day and probably over the year.
Jenkins goes out early meaning effective debuts for Monk and Telford leading to a slew of holding penalties.
Throw on 4th down at the end has to go to Heath as everyone else is injured and he can't stay inbounds.
    Love playing terribly.
    Valentine vs Goedert…

Defense was impressive for the most part and hopefully can build on that next year. I'd imagine the draft will be D heavy in the early rounds again. I'd go all out for Higgins in FA or try arrange some kind of deal for Davante to come back for the year. The receiving core needs a no1 that you can bank on. Hopefully some of them can make a jump next year that didn't really happen this year.

Looks like the Vikings weren't one of the greatest teams in the world after all.....

PACKERS HAVE WORK TO DO .

No doubt about it . The Division is rapidly evening up and the days of almost automatic divisional wins seem to be gone.

That makes a difference to seedings etc as we saw this year.

They need a genuine no1 receiver… the likes of Tee Higgins for example, the secondary needs beefing up and they need receivers who can catch the ball in pressure situations….. Terry Mclauren types .

Northern Division and Packers finishing third in it further devalued with the Detroit loss. The teams that beat Packers were being bigged up as potential SB winners, and gave us followers some comfort in how competitive the Pack were this year, while in reality we were also rans in a poor division, getting meaningless wins in unimportant games but unable to cut it when it matters.

That seems a bit harsh. The playoffs are one off knock out games, upsets can easily happen. The Lions and Vikings only lost a few games in the regular season, they are very strong teams. It's a surprise they are gone out but they don't go from two of the top teams in the league to poor also rans because they lost one game.

It was a disappointing finish from the packers but with still a very young team and injuries it ultimately cost us. If we could pick up another two free agents that have an impact like McKinney and Jacobs this year it could push the packers even higher in the contender spots. The defense has improved and you'd hope in year 2 with Hafley and a few more quality bodies in it will get even better.

Is it harsh? Who did the divisions trams beat this year thay were so impressive?

Their records are seriously devalued by the performances of all 3 teams in the playoffs.
