I still have no collection email for the jet 65 I didn't think it would take this long but let's see.

Edit just realised it says in the original email expected pick up Wednesday 29th I missed that.

Bought a Shark from DID last year which stopped working after a few months. Been waiting for a replacement from them now for over a month, one of these and some cash back in my pocket will do nicely instead.

i striked out shark after lot of poor reviews and dyson after usability..hopefully this one will last beyond 5 yrs post guarantee

Getting 5 years out of it may be a bit too optimistic, the battery is not going to last that long. The battery is covered by a 2 year warranty, but its wording is a bit ambiguous "The 2 year warranty is limited to the battery only and excludes normal wear and tear. The battery can be replaced free of charge when used for less than 500 cycles and the remaining battery life is over 70%. 1 cycle: Full discharge after being fully charged (100% ~ 0%)." It sounds to me it should have read "and the remaining battery life is under 70%". Doesn't inspire with confidence in any case. A new original battery is £199 and it's not even easy to obtain, by the looks of it. I was about to pull the trigger on the Jet 85 here, but the lack of a proper flexible hose accessory (I need it for the car) and particularly the spare battery price are dealbreakers for me.

I got the Jet 85 today… thanks so much for the recommendation as my mothers Dyson bit the dust a few months back.

will the receipt from Harvey Norman’s suffice for the cash back claim?

Just collected mine yday and unboxed .. Surprised how powerful but silent it is compared to Dyson the incumbent!!

bought a 65 for my mother and a 85 for myself in Harvey Norman …. seem a fine job

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,440 ✭✭✭gunnerfitzy

I spent ages faffing around the Samsung website trying to register the product for the 5 year warranty only to realise that the link on the product page on the Harvey Norman website worked best.

Although it's the Samsung UK site it's also valid for Ireland. I tried changing the 'uk' in the url to 'ie' but the registration wouldn't complete.

i bought the 85 and i am very happy with it . Great selection of attachments . No complaints having tied it on low pile carpet and tiles . We have two dogs and the pet attachment works well .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,259 ✭✭✭mel123

I just realised i missed the link a poster put on the first page, the Jet 85 is 320 in DID and my collection is in Harvey's where I paid 350. Anyone know am I better of cancelling or will Harvey do a price match and refund me the 30 difference?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,487 ✭✭✭Roberto_gas

DID 85 one is not covered by the cashback…double check it. Its the green one and a different model

Just picked up the Jet 65 from Currys. Really nice piece of kit and seems very powerful yet quiet - did a quick hoover of the kitchen and it picked up everything i could see. Super job and for €149 it really is a bargain - thanks OP.

Highly recommended if something like this comes up again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,444 ✭✭✭batistuta9

What's the advantages to these compared to a normal corded hoover?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,487 ✭✭✭Roberto_gas

same benefits of any other hoover..portable and easy to do a quick cleanup .. use in car etc as well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,259 ✭✭✭mel123

Finally got around to collecting mine today. I showed them the DID one, which didnt have cash back offer but was 30€ cheaper. They agreed to price match it so made an even further saving. Thanks to OP

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭Gary_dunne

Apologies didn't get back on the review, used it a few times now around the house and the pet tool is a dream for collecting cat hair. The amount that came out of the rug was crazy. The hairs do stick to the yellow attachments on it so had to manually pull that off but no major issues.

Powerful hoover for the size and weight of it and we easily got the whole house (93sq/m) done with it with some extra charge left in the battery. Now if you were looking to do a large house you'd probably be better off getting the 85 with the larger battery or buy a second one for this, some off brand ones available on amazon for around €50.

All in all, a great hoover especially for the reduced price and with the cashback it's a no brainer. Would definitely recommend it.

Totally agree with this review. I used it quite a bit now and it's a great little vacuum. With the cashback offer it's a no brainer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 135 ✭✭Fraggle7979

Think I'll pull the trigger on the 85. Is the DID JET85 one at 319.99 able to get 180 cashback too? I see DID listed on the samsung site but not the model code VS20C8522TN/EU ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,169 ✭✭✭jones

I'd be wary buying it if the code isn't on the Samsung site unless you want to pay full price

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 135 ✭✭Fraggle7979

Grand, yea. Looked further at it and won't buy it off them, will go with harvey

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,451 ✭✭✭✭suvigirl

Bought the 85, I think? 350 Euro in Harvey Norman😳 I better get the cashback, multiple alarms set😂

Its a great vacuum in fairness, delighted with it, 2 cats here!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 549 ✭✭✭Dan Steely

Ordered the 85 from HN. After payment it brought me to a page to create an account but I can't focus on the fields. Am I missing something?

How do I set a cashback alarm?

Which attachment are ppl using for hardwood flooring? I am using the LED ine and great so far ! Min setting gives 60 mins of runtime and 45 mins on med—85 model.

Dont forget to register for 5 years warranty !!

Serial number is on the main body and first letter is 0(zero)..

There's no limit on the amount of redemptions on this offer is there? I'm thinking of the Weber Barbecue offer last year. Had a look at the T&C's but couldn't see anything about it being limited to the first 25000 cashbacks for example.

Cheers Op for highlighting this, bought the 85 off HV after, I bought a cheap one off amazon but was poor, some day I will go with the quality first!

There is the offer on the 65 in HV below:

    https://www.harveynorman.ie/small-appliances/vacuum-cleaners/handheld-vacuum-cleaners/samsung-jet-65-pet-cordless-stick-vacuum-cleaner-vs15a60agr5-eu.html

I spent about 20 minutes researching the difference between the 65 and 85 for the sake of 20 quid. In the bookies yesterday and fluttered 30 quid in space of 5 minutes but then something like this requires leaving cert type focus!

    Excellent just ordered thank you.

Was waiting for a price drop on the Dyson ebay outlet but this will do nicely instead 👍️

It can’t be any worse than a Dyson, they have become total junk

That hoover is a horrendous one. Partner bought it and I brought it back after one use, no power at all. Ok for wooden floors but for any fabric it was useless.

reviews saying it's too powerful for carpets? did you find that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭Gary_dunne

No, half of whatever it managed to suck up fell straight back out. Often wonder if half the reviews posted are fabricated.

Invest in a decent hoover, they’re worth it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,444 ✭✭✭batistuta9

that's mad, the reviews do seem good. always had the corded ones, they should be more powerful, that & the battery kinda put off these types

Id use the Henry for everything but its herself has requested a decent spec cordless for her birthday so this fits the bill.

Might throw this in if it matches the battery:

    https://www.irelandbattery.com/samsung-batteries/samsung-bespoke-jet-lite--jet85--battery.htm

HN have already shipped the vacuum an hour after ordering so should have it soon.
