I think they were slower to drop their prices than the other manufacturers, but open to correction about that.

Maybe the ICCU issues also discouraged potential buyers.

For some manufacturers theres been some well publicised issues perhaps the case here. Dunno.

My bz4x has reached 75,000kms. I went to service center last week and they said everything is perfect, not even a single issue.

It looks like bz4x will be like RAV4; We may be able to see in every corner of the road soon.

Now my front tyres are pirelli.

You should know that there are regulations. Europe is for Volkswagon and America is for Tesla. There could be secret regulations in place that Toyota is allowed to hold only 20 percent of the market. If demand grows Toyota will be asked to increase the price or not allowed to come up with new models. For example what happened to Toyota proace, wheel chair taxi. They revoked the model. All new taxi drivers want that car, but they just revoked it. And new taxi drivers have to buy Peugeot, citroen, ford, Vw. My friend who bought Ford Custom connect for taxi after 70000 km or something, automatic gear box ripped off and had to spent 8000 euros. Another friend who bought Peugeot, its engine ripped off and had to replace the entire engine. Toyota's bz3 and bz7 are unveiled in Chinese market. I dont think they will come to Europe any time soon, since nobody is buying VW ID5 and also many of the EU cars. I was in city center yesterday, and I could see 4 or 5, bz4x taxis going together.

The same happened in my home country India. We have Indian companies - Tata and Mahindra. Tata also now owns Jaguar and LandRover. People do not prefer their cars. Toyota came with a model, Innova in 2009 and the demand is so huge that now the price is 4 times from that time.

You can still get the Toyota Proace and have it converted for wheelchair accessibility. At least three companies offering it.

As for gearbox and engine trouble. Seriously? Taxi drivers thrashing cars to death is not new. It's why nobody will buy a second hand taxi.

Attractive price indeed.

BZ4X has improved since launch and may start to be of interest to private buyers at that price finally.

It seems to be selling well almost despite some dealers having no interest.

Toyota management appear to be missing an open goal by not giving the car a bigger battery.

Kinda hard to argue it's not competitive when it's selling.

VHS Vs Betamax. It's selling enough numbers that the not competitive argument isn't valid. Toyota has established better credibility with buyers than other brands. It's paying off for them. They are still doing recalls for faults where other brands are weaseling out of flaky door handles.

The ID range has been riddled with bugs and build quality issues since launch. All the traditional manufacturers are struggling with profitability. They are being built to a price point. It's no excuse for the profiteering and poor warranties etc. But it is what's driving it.

Its been suggested the Chinese manufacturers are being subsidised 3x or 4x times more than other manufacturers. Which may have future repercussions.

The BX maybe compromised but perhaps it's a better package considering warranty and customer support. Also considering an unstable market.

I’d hazard a guess that Toyota have a fair idea of how to run their own company and when will be the time to switch to a more wide ranging EV fleet. Selling EVs to Europe is not really where Toyota’s core business model is either.

All three that were for sale for 38k now gone. Great deal, you'd be sick if you paid nearly 55k a couple of years ago.

I just analysed RAV4 sales.

In January last month alone RAV4 sold 925 units. In 2024 whole year it sold only 3536 units.

One reason could be new model may get launched in the coming months for RAV4. They are trying to clear the waiting lists.

People are getting to know what is happening in Norway. Bz4x is the best selling car there. With one million kms battery warranty, which other car offers that much. My first three services were free. Fourth service, it was 260 euros; I went to my dealer in south Dublin. For my fifth service, I went to the most famous dealer in North Dublin, it costs me just 120 euros.

I recently noticed a review on Tesla saying that autopilot suddenly breaks in motorway during night time. Imagine how much danger it is when another car is behind at 100km/h.

What does the EV Health Check entail or cost at say year 4 onwards ?

So the million km warranty can only ever apply once the car is less than 10 years old, but from year 5 onwards, you can only add 15,000km per year to keep the warranty active? or is it 15,000km per health check?

It says on the panel above that it's in the 4th year and before 100k kms. Assume it's every year or 15k after that?

You might be a little unfair here. Lots of EV’s from VW etc. are coming close to or beyond HV battery warranty after even 3-5 years. The 8 years isn’t really attainable if you cover any sort of high annual mileage as you’ll hit the 160K Km’s limit first.

One reason for high bz4x sales in Norway may be due to the door handles. The below review says that Tesla is less effective in cold weather.
