I emailed Bounce and asked about not getting the Bolt every Sunday and This was the response

    Thank you for contacting us!

The Bolt is a survey we send out to keep our information up to date, if you haven't received one, this probably means you are all up to date!

I have also put in a request for the AllGifts to be topped up as well.

    Thanks,
    Bounce Support

at least you are getting your allgifts topped up , but strange that you are not getting the email, i guess there isn't more you can do, maybe you will get one soon

Did anyone get the 7.50 survey from acumen on drinks for your teenager. It was 2 parts. My son completed it and then got an error at the end. Now it's still showing on my dashboard to complete. So annoying and it took 25 minutes to complete

Interesting article a pity it's behind a paywall I wouldn't mind reading it.

    Red C Experiences!

Bit of a novice on the survey front, 3 months in on a few sites. Consistently get an email from Red C advising on a survey and it seems 9 times out of 10, survey is closed or I am not eligible. Is this normal?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,951 ✭✭✭✭Jim_Hodge

That's a high percentage of fails for RedC. Are you trying immediately on receipt of the email? They can fill up very quickly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,518 ✭✭✭✭ben.schlomo

If you're using Chrome to open them then don't and you'll have more success.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,017 ✭✭✭bog master

Thanks for reply. Try to open asap but don't use phone for emails etc., just PC. But at times when at pc, will get email and respond within 2-3 minutes and still same message.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,017 ✭✭✭bog master

Thanks for that, will try Firefox then so!

as said previously don't delete straight away. Try them all a few times as in the next day or two. It could be something as simple as have you b ur date of birth correct on ur account as that is one thing asked early on

they "once" made 350 in a month. Not very believable. Unless they happened to win a draw or two Like Amarach etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 72,325 ✭✭✭✭L1011

I was offered two phone focus groups in a month, one clashed with a holiday. Would have been well over a hundred if I'd done both. Couple that with a RedC payout and grinding every tiny panel going and you might get there.

I've been offered a total of four, ever, so that really wasn't a normal month!

My normal year is only about 350-400. 100 or 150 RedC, 100 Acumen, maybe 150 Shop&Scan and 30 iReach; gave up on everything else as taking too much time.

There’s something quite satisfying about taking part in short quizzes, vox pops or surveys, whether online or in a newspaper or magazine.

But while participation in itself may incite a heady rush akin to successfully completing a homework assignment, there is also another bonus for those who enjoy participating in activities of this kind, and it comes in the form of hard cash.

According to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office, 98pc of internet users aged between 30 and 44 go online every day, while a slightly lower proportion (96pc) of people aged between 45 and 59 do the same.

Some canny users have discovered that while browsing through their feed, they can also make some money (or vouchers) by taking part in paid online surveys.

Chloe Bennet says she can earn up to €200 a month doing paid online surveys

Chloe Bennet can attest to this as the Dublin-based writer and editor (www.ukwritings.com) spends up to two hours a day taking part in various surveys online.

“A few years ago I discovered online surveys as a simple method to earn money from home, after getting some online recommendations,” she said.

“So I thought I would try them out and while I initially struggled to determine which survey sites were worth my time, eventually, through trial and error, I identified the ones which would pay reliably.

“For the past three years, whenever I have free time, I've participated in online surveys, which help to generate a modest income.

“The number of surveys available changes from day to day,” she says, “with some days having a lot and others, very few.

“The highest-paying survey opportunities are from Prolific (www.prolific.com) for academic studies as well as YouGov (www.yougov.com) plus Pinecone Research (www.pineconeresearch.com), which can be difficult to join.

I spend my earnings on coffee and small treats, while saving some for holiday plans

“Market research surveys on Toluna (www.toluna.com) and Opinion Outpost (www.opinionoutpost.com) also provide decent income.

“What I make depends on my qualification, but it’s usually about €100-€200 per good month, which helps with little expenses.”

The 32-year-old says that while the money she earns from taking part in surveys is useful, it wouldn’t be enough to keep her afloat.

“It seems unlikely you can sustain yourself through online surveys as your sole source of income, particularly as it lacks consistency because survey availability remains limited,” she said.

“With active participation I can earn up to €200 on a good month, but dedicating multiple hours each day to this work wouldn't result in enough income to make it sustainable and to make a living (by working only) online. I think you would need to combine survey tasks with other side jobs.

“However, for extra spending money, it’s great. I spend my earnings on coffee and small treats, while saving some for holiday plans.”

Monica Dempsey (frugal_sustainable_life on Instagram) also spends time doing online surveys and says that while there is money to be made, it is important to know which ones to invest time in.

“I started doing surveys a few years ago and I’ve learned a lot in that time,” she said. “There are lots of survey sites out there and I found many of them very annoying and frustrating to use as they offer a little reward of something like €0.60 for 10 minutes work.

“But then, after participating in the survey for a few minutes, they may tell you that you don’t fit the demographic so your time has been wasted.

“These days I use Prolific so now I only get the surveys that I have been already accepted for and the reward is greater for the time that it takes to do them – something like €2.40 for five minutes work.

"I try to build up my money and then cash out using PayPal, making sure to remember that all income is taxable.

“I also use Media Opinions Ireland and answer a quick survey every day. With this, the points can be cashed out as vouchers. In addition to that I use Bounce (www.bounceinsights.com) as the surveys there only take a few minutes, and you are automatically accepted into them. These can also be cashed out as vouchers.”

While the 42-year-old engages in online surveys every day, she says it is not possible to earn enough to get by on. However, they do offer an easy means of making some extra money.

The payment processing methods of a site indicate its legitimacy when they include options like PayPal, bank transfers or gift cards from recognisable brands

“I don’t think you can earn enough of an income by taking part in surveys alone, unless you are doing them 24/7, which is not possible if you have a job or a family,” she says.

“I use them as extra income for things like Christmas and birthdays and I would advise anyone thinking of getting involved to make sure to pick ones that work best for them.

“They need to weigh up how much time it takes along with the reward given, as our time is special, so we need to try to make the most of it.

“Start simple and keep track of how much you need to earn before pay out. And try surveys that are quick but that guarantee a reward, such as Shop and Scan (www.shopandscan.ie), which just involves scanning your shopping each week and uploading your receipt, or Store Rewards, which is an app on Google Play or the Apple Store.”

Knowing which site to take part in is key, Ms Bennet agrees. She encourages people to decide what they want to get involved in before dedicating any time to it.

“I start my research by reading user reviews on platforms such as Trustpilot or Reddit to determine if people received payment,” she said. “I never join sites which request any upfront payment because legitimate survey platforms do not charge membership fees.

“The payment processing methods of a site indicate its legitimacy when they include options like PayPal, bank transfers or gift cards from recognisable brands.

“Also, it’s important to take precautions about what personal information to reveal – as a legitimate survey site does not request highly sensitive information such as full banking details, so it should be a warning sign if they do.

Online surveys can be a good source of a regular modest income. Photo: PA

“I prefer to use survey platforms with established companies like Prolific, YouGov, and Pinecone Research because they have earned a solid reputation over time.”

Ms Bennet advises people to register with several established survey platforms “to identify which ones suits their needs best”.

“Prolific serves as an excellent platform for high-paying academic research surveys whereas YouGov specialises in opinion-based research studies.

“The initial phase requires patience because surveys won’t always match your interests and it takes time to establish a consistent stream of survey invitations.

“Regular email and notification checks are beneficial because top-tier surveys often get filled within a short time frame.”

It’s also important to pay attention and answer carefully, she says. “Being honest during surveys is crucial because they often contain trick questions to ensure you're paying attention and inconsistent answers can lead to disqualification.”

Aoife Scanlan, a 39-year-old stay-at-home mum in Dublin, says she “really enjoys” doing online surveys, while the money she makes is “an added bonus”.

“I’ve always loved doing quizzes in magazines and stuff like that, so when I discovered that I could make some money by answering a few questions, I was delighted,” she says.

“I spend about two or three hours a day on them when the kids are in school and the most I have made is about €350 in one month.

“It doesn’t sound like much, but it is great to have that little bit extra to treat yourself to a lunch out or a new dress, particularly when it feels like I’m getting it for nothing.

“You need to know what you’re doing, though, as you could end up wasting time on things, so I have discovered that the bests sites are things like Prolific and Bounce.

I also use Irish Opinions (www.irishopinions.com) and Prime Opinion (www.primeopinion.com) and find these quite good as well.

“I would have no hesitation recommending online surveys to people as long as they go on the right ones. It’s a bit of fun, there’s no obligation and you make a little bit of money on the side. What’s not to like?”

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,951 ✭✭✭✭Jim_Hodge

Absolutely. I do surveys constantly and would clear €800-€850 in an average year. €350 in a month was with something really exceptional thrown in.

I kept a track of what I got in "cash" last year into revolut etc and not vouchers and I cleared 375. Its nice to have for extras but 350 in a month seems excessive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,775 ✭✭✭Kittykat67

why not Cash Out. I'd cash an allgift with that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,775 ✭✭✭Kittykat67

I checked my book where I keep track of payments. For all of 2023 and 2024 I had one month that was great €340. That was winning 2x 100 euro in two separate survey draws and a red c plus bounce norstat media opinions etc. That is very rare to win so just building up other surveys 100 a month would be good. So the one that said they once earned 350 I bet it was something like amarch which top prize is 250 I'm sure. It would be very rare to get anywhere near that and I spend a lot of time doing surveys across numerous platforms

Anyone get their RED C payment into their bank yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 905 ✭✭✭tbahh

As for p26275, I would recommend not doing it if it's still only worth €3. I have in my notes it took another 10-15 minutes to do after the advertised 15 minutes. As it was a few months ago, I can't remember exactly what it was for, but I do remember it was neverending and kept asking so many (boring) questions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,186 ✭✭✭bmc58

I did this one on the 7/1/25 and have no bad memories of it.Should be in my paypacket this month. Some of RED C surveys do go on a little longer than the stated time but some are shorter than the stated time also.It goes with the territory.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 905 ✭✭✭tbahh

This was a third-party survey by Basis, who decide the time and payment given to respondents. From what I can remember, the more products you selected you were aware of, the survey then asked plenty of more questions about those products, making it longer than advertised.

Perhaps by the time you took the survey, it may have been amended but when I did it in early December, it took nearly twice the alloted time. If surveys run over a few minutes, that would be okay as oftentimes, as you point out, surveys do and can be completed less than the alloted time.

I have no issues with the timings from in-house RedC Live surveys, just some certain third-party ones.
