First and foremost would've liked to have nipped the obvious issue in the bud by starting lads like Endo and Elliott a week ago against Southampton anyway so guys like Szobo and Grav would've had a full week off to recover for PSG and Newcastle. For today, troubled as he is I'd have started Nunez over Jota - Jota's just been woeful of late, and doesn't even cause any problems. Just too easy for big lads like Schar and Burn.

Didn't play midweek, came on in extra time and was full of energy, made a big difference, missed a pen though

Fair enough starting Endo and Elliott against Southampton,but Nunez has played plenty of minutes over the last month and there isn't much difference tbh between him and Jota. At the end of the day all our forwards are out of form/not good enough and that is our single biggest problem. Plus our left backs have not been good enough all season

We've been lumping balls up at little lads all day. If that was the plan, surely it makes more sense to play someone who might actually win one or two of 'em.

Nunez is comedy gold

Agree on that too,but at the end of the day our squad is not as good as some thought it was,and certainly not good enough to compete in multiple competitions,as has been evidenced over the last couple of months.

Lads anyone who thinks we are not in a serious slump is smoking some strong stuff. The writing has been on the wall for a few weeks. We're being dominated by everyone we play against at the moment. Midfield and attack are non existent.

If he had faith in Chiesa to make a difference surely some minutes against Southampton would have helped his sharpness here. Could never understand the lack of rotation in that game.
