Less than 4 weeks to go before the first race in Thailand and so many questions to be answered:

How long will peace reign between Marquez and Bagnia at Ducati ?

Can Fabio spring a surprise on his factory Ducati at VR46?

Can Martin keep the #1 at Aprilla and how long will he and Bez remain friendly ?

Will Pedro Acosta win this season ? And how long can KTM keep their all star line up intact and can KTM survive financially??

Have Yamaha turned the corner? , Fabio Quattararo setting good times in testing

And Honda , will the wait go on....is 2027 their goal to return to glory ?

And who will be rookie of the year? Chantra , Aldeguer or Ogura ,who has looked fast in testing.

First major preseason test starts this Wednesday in Sepang.

I sadly doubt Quatararo has the machine this year, probably Aldeguer for rookie but personally leaning for Ogura.

After that I'm looking at Jorge Martin to challenge and Bagnaia plus Marc Marquez to be 'strong' aka bang into each other. For me Jorge is the one that would prefer to avoid the argy bargy, after that it depends on the bike..

Not sure I'm seeing Honda doing anything

    Yamaha looking ok,

    Aprilia having a nightmare.

Martin had an awful high side on the Aprilia in testing and looks to miss some races perhaps?

Martin confirmed to participate at Buriam ,first race of the season on Feb 28th to March 2nd.

Positive news for Martin is Bez has shown good pace in testing and has shown not previously seen testing and development skills.

Thr other big story is Ducati abandoning it's 2025 engines and deciding to use its '24 engine in all six Ducatis (GP24 and GP25s)

Jorge Martin will miss this weekends moto gp opener after fracturing his hand in a training accident earlier today.

Ooh bad start to season and it's not begun

All 5 manufacturers have bikes straight through to tomorrow's pole position and a Marquez fastest, Alex on his Ducati GP24.

Great to have Moto GP back, speed and drama !

Pecco missing out on going straight through to pole position shoot out after race control incorrectly cancelled his lap ,(they have apologised) , and then getting baulked by Frankie. Frankie has received a 3 grid spot penalty though in his defence he slowed ,as did the two bikes in front of him , due to Marshalls being out removing Bezs bike.

Stand out performances from Mir who looks very comfortable on his Honda , Raul Fernandez getting 7th after being no where on his beautiful looking Gulf sponsored Trackhouse Aprilla , and Ai Ogura, fast in testing and now the fastest rookie in qualifying and into the pole position shoot out.

Sprint race 8am Saturday morning, free to air on Quest (and TNT )

Marc is going to stroll to champion this season isn't he

I think you’re right. And had there not been the tyre pressure rules, he’d have led from start to finish.

Buriam is an unusual circuit, like Argentina in a fortnight's time ,however,

Carpe looks a star in Moto 3

Gonzalez and Dynavolt look unbeatable in Moto 2 ,

And Marc Marquez is back at the top of the championship and it's very hard to see who is going to dislodge him.

Frankie Cardechi ,Marc's team chief at Gresini, has reiterated many times that 'Marc will be dominant on the factory bike ' , while Kieth Huewen comment that 'Pecco is cooked ' looks spot on after this weekend.

Ai Ogura has been a revelation on the Aprilla this weekend , which gives a glimmer of hope that a returning ,fully fit, Jorge Martin ,might be able to give Marc a run for his money. Same could apply to Diggie ,the other Ducati GP25 runner.

Yamaha and Honda can still update their bikes ,engines /aero , so perhaps there might be a surprise later in the season.

Was so weird and a little sad seeing that Honda without the Repsol sponsorship.

Does anyone else have the videopass for MotoGP??

I've had it a few years now and it mostly worked ok. Last year I can't remember having any issues with it at all but they must have changed it this year as I keep having to restart it. They clamped it down so you can only play on one device at a time… which is fine… but last GP, I was getting the message to log out of the other device before using this device. Then today it's just constantly dropping and I have to restart the app. I've tried on laptop, phone, tv and casting to tv and it's the same all the time. every 2/3 mins it drops. I'm fuming TBH as I wanted to drop it this year but it auto renewed on me!

Videopass isn't working for me ,'technical error' ,retry message.

As for the races - Argentina delivered again with a last lap Moto 3 thriller, a welcome return to the winners circle in Moto 2 and a few surprises in Moto GP ,not the expected walk in the park....

COTA next ,Jorge not expected to be back, history suggests the battle will be for second place.…

Videopass is fine for me (can't offer any ideas as to why you guys are having issues).

Great result for VR46 - my two fav riders! Gotta see Digi win again in 2025.

Zarco/Honda did great too - never thought I'd say that about Honda - but sweet to see Digi snatch that spot.

I had the same issues with video

Pass the last race, no issues this race.

Will be very interesting to see how Pecco goes. Being behind Marc is one thing, but being beaten by Alex on a 24 bike has a bad look to it.

And having Jorge out on an Aprilla with #1 will be great to see how he goes, especially against the Ducati's.

Just for those who are unaware, Quest TV, free on satellite, are showing Motogp highlights.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,563 ✭✭✭XsApollo

might not be any highlights, half the riders ran off the grid 😁😁😁

But seriously WTF? How can riders just leave the grid? Anybody who left the grid should be starting from the pit lane.

Footage dropped for me briefly before race, did the safety car have a spin?.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,763 ✭✭✭✭The Nal

That was absolute madness. First half of the race anyway, including the pre race fiasco. Great stuff.

Stunning Moto 3 race , millimeters between them , all live on Quest as well as TNT.

Pecco had a nightmare of a ride yesterday, starting from 9th it's going to be hard to mice forward, great to see Martin back in action.

What a Qatar motogp weekend, brilliant Moto 3 ,Moto 2 and Moto GP races.

Alex Marquez a little wild today unfortunately,

Confirmation that Vinales has been hit with a penalty for low tyre pressure,

Jorge Martin has suffered a nasty crash and is in hospital with suspected broken ribs , thankfully Diggie avoided hitting Jorge in the crash

Update : medical update for Jorge Martin ,6 fractured ribs and a collapsed lung, Jorge will remain in hospital for the next few days.

Great news that Jorge is conscious and alert but most unfortunate for Jorge to suffer more injuries .

he is lucky, I didn’t see the crash as I got up to get something, I just watched it there, slow mo on you tube and his head went under the front wheel of the bike behind.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,920 ✭✭✭geotrig

yeah what looked like nothing ended up being a nasty crash, couldnt make out if where or if his head was hit myself but defo took a heft blow to the body ,should take his time now hopefully before coming back, enjoyed the race and while unfortunate for maverick on the tyre pressure,i'm enjoying the extra drama that it has added to them having to manage it. enjoying alex marquez pushing his brother

Martin out for 3 months according to Motomatters. 11 rib fractures and a collapsed lung.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,898 ✭✭✭Infoanon

That it could have been so much worse for Jorge makes a 3 months absence relatively minor.

A fully fit Jorge in 2026 should be something to relish ,fingers crossed.

Disaster for Aprilla , the one team without an ace test rider , Bez has been off the pace on the factory bike ,Raul Fernandez hasn't got to grips with Moto GP while Ogura has been the star for Aprilla , a rookie cannot develop the bike unfortunately.

In related news ,after a year out ,Cal Cructhlow has recovered from injury and will be back testing the Yamaha (V4?) Shortly.
