I live on the East coast but am from Cork. I would never advise anyone to go to Cork to miss out on rain. Cork must be one of the wettest counties in the country. Every time I visit it seems to be raining

A few diversions at Knock Airport this morning. I'm guessing fog could be issue.

    Wet and damp in Leitrim

Spot on, 300 metres visibility in light rain and Fog. Yuck.

Mist starting to form in Leitrim.

I know head wrecking, just have the kids ready to go out the door to finally get some fresh air before the Easter dinner and it's lashing again!

Cork has some of the driest/sunniest parts of the country. It's a big county and west is very different to east

You're right. I've been twice now in past 5 years. Once in August there was 60mm in 1 day and now this 100mm in 4 or 5 days. Never coming here again. At least in Sligo you get 8 to 10mm of light rain. Maybe East is the place to go. Might drive to Waterford today as rain doesn't seem as heavy there.

Pauldry don't come East at the moment raining here since Thursday evening😂.

Ah I managed to get out for walk for an hour with kids just got back before another shower.

At least we can eat our dinner guilt free now we have our exercise😁

So much for today being the 'nice' day.

Not a bad day out west. Played 18 holes in very pleasant conditions. I expected the course to be wet/soggy after 2 full days of rain but it soaked it all up after weeks of dry conditions. I can nearly hear the leaves growing now after the rain.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Out doing the gardening in a t shirt in DSW at the moment.
It’s threatening to rain again but it’s warmish.
    100% grey skies though.

Grand day here near Tralee, cloudy with a few spells of sunshine making it quite pleasant. Pottering around the garden, moved the weather station to a better spot for more accurate temp readings, the ground was a bit heavy after the 30mm that fell over the last few days but grand for digging. Staying dry all day. 12C approx.

Rain and more rain this afternoon. Brutal in Leitrim.

Fully overcast now here near Tralee, staying dry for now but the occluded front not far away.

Was down your neck of the woods cycling the Ring of Kerry today and the weather was very decent, a a lot better than back home in Cork from speaking to family 🙂

Rained in North Ros all day while in Salthill there was none, roads are flooded at home. At least I missed the rain for a few hours. A 3rd awful day in Roscommon topped off by a hammering by Galway. Happy Easter and that..

Ah that's great, it sure was nice getting out after the few wet days, I'm sure much more pleasant cycling when dry.

Moderate to heavy rainfall now here, rainband should go through fairly quickly followed by showers, hopefully tomorrow not too bad, maybe a few showers/ drizzle but should be some good dry spells also here in Kerry.

Rain all night. From drizzle to heavy. From Thursday 7pm to now. Unbelievable amounts of rain. Leitrim

I've not seen a month go from 100 to 0 this fast. The past week, at least since Wednesday, has been nothing short of terrible in Dublin. A massive contrast to the first fortnight which was about as good as I could hope for in early April realistically.

Now it's a wetter than average month here after the space of those few wet days…

Maybe this miserable Easter will allow us to have a belting summer!

We are certainly due a good summer after the horrific summers of 2023 and 2024. 2024 not quite as bad but way too cool and overcast.

Need some warm southerlies even if it brings thundery rain at times. Some folk will disagree but we all have our preferences. Anything is better than a cool northwesterly.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday are always horribly wet days

Echoing other comments, it's been a brutal Easter weekend in Dublin, I was looking forward to the 4 day break from work but we've barely been able to get outdoors at all. Torrential rain at the moment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,613 ✭✭✭appledrop

Well we braved the farm today!

I woke at 7.30am and it didn't look too bad so I booked it, like the old days wait until the day and check the weather!

Not we have been lucky, a good few heavy showers but we were beside sheds during all of it so could shelter for a few minutes.

I couldnt take another day indoors😂.

Kids have had a ball, only problem is more chocolate eggs😁.

it’s been brutal everywhere. The bar is so low though that some will convince you it’s fine. Went to the hurling in thurles yesterday dank overcast occasionally raining and 11 degrees. Today is better in so far as the grey slate has been replaced by the staple sunshine and showers and 10 degrees.

Jaysus back home and torrential rain, everywhere is drowned😱

Spending Easter in Blackwater in Wexford, weather was mostly cloudy yesterday with some sun in the evening. Today has been beautiful with a light breeze and fair conditions.

Beautiful day here near Tralee, sunshine and passing cloud, had 8mm yesterday evening /overnight but dry since early. 12.3C with a breeze, nice in the shade, would need a jumper or light jacket when out pottering around but grand .

Spring well and truly taking hold.
