My God, I came on here to read people’s opinions on two great games today but I feel like I’ve walked into a crèche full of screaming children… the immaturity of some of the posts on here today is embarrassing

must have been a lot of salt in their easter eggs today 😂 . unbelievable some of the stuff printed

Tipp were excellent today. They will give next week right go.

I am nervous as Corkman about it already.

Would need a serious crystal ball to predict Munster now, still have to see what Waterford have to offer yet.

What did you think? For all the focus on Corks goal threat, Clare's was forgotten. Downey was a big loss for Cork, you need a big man on Duggan and he made hay in there. Cork do look a bit vulnerable from a big target man so expect Limerick to go for that, but don't think Tipp or Waterford have that sort of target man.

Wonder if the Kyle Hayes move was worth it for Limerick. Adam English could be the most talented young hurler in the Country but his shooting lets him down a bit too much. 7 wides is some efficiency from Tipp in those conditions.

its possible 4 teams could finish up on 5 points , i would expect a backlash from cork next week at home , then tipperary come to ennis where they have yet to lose since the round robin was introduced , i have a feeling this could be a heart attack championship for every team

i think the draw was good for both teams if one team won in thurles , all it does is cancel the round out

Tipp were incredibly efficient. Got something out of most of their attacks.

offaly have shown themselves to be a deaccent side and waterford pretty much devoured them for most of the 1B final, there will be nothing between the sides next week

I feel the same. If Tipp turn it on then they will trouble us. I hope that playing in PUC will help but Tipp will be up for it and I wouldn't be overconfident of getting the win.

I expect a more even performance from Cork next week. Alot will depend on Downey being fit.

Tip will be happy with today and will look forward to trying to put in a much better performance than the league final.

It could be a cracker but Cork to win by 5 for me.

Waterford will be looking at getting something from their first home game and could well take their league form into the championship. They will provide a completely different obstacle for Clare than Cork did and will run them very close.

The 70's were fifty years ago and Clare have beaten us in the two most recent all Ireland final clashes between the two counties. The other counties just don't have the same fear of Cork that they used to imo.

We have a reputation for being bottlers and Walter The Softies in intercounty hurling now sadly. We're seen in the modern era as hurlings very own version of Spurs in the English football!

I think it'll naturally be difficult for Tipp to hit the heights of today again. One of those performances where they were highly efficient, got a lot from themselves and some of the old guard reeled in the years.

Looking at the two teams I think Limerick have more scope for improvement. They had some bad wides, i think positionally a lot didnt work and they have players to come back. However I'm not as sure as previous years that Limerick will get everything right

You can believe that if you want.

I will always stand up for my county and refuse to bow to the likes of Limerick and Clare who until recently were also rans and will be again soon enough.

I believe we are as good as any right now.

Nothing between any of the teams as shown today.

Without that silly red that Barrett was goaded into we win that game comfortably.

So when ye win it's because of tradition and when ye lose it's the ref robbed ye? Feck it anyway, you should have said that sooner, it all makes sense now…..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 131 ✭✭JoyceDavenport

Do you not think that was a free in last year with last puck of game?

    If you don't I can't help you.

he could have saved a lot of virtual ink by just saying that in the first place 😂

any chance you could throw in next wednesday nights lotto numbers into your next predictions !!

Don't know why Cork would complain about the ref today. He gave them a very undeserved chance at the end to equalize. Time was up after the Clare free, he played on for no reason

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,449 ✭✭✭windy shepard henderson

i agree with this , cork would have the stronger bench too you would imagine , limerick still have a few players to comeback also

But if Cork won you'd say he didn't play enough added time.

Plus Millerick was fouled blatantly in the build up to one of Clare's goals.

Clare diving again..Hogan was at it in the first min.

Without the red Cork win handily.

Even Dalo said the game was over before the red.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 131 ✭✭JoyceDavenport

I'll predict Hogan and Kelly will dive below in Waterford and look to get a player sent off.

Ye played the ref well as usual but in hurling terms not so good until the red card.

Point dropped at home for ye.

I'd have taken a draw beforehand and moved on.

no one is having a go at cork or its tradition , but one poster here is hell bent on turning the thread upside down with that argument , i suppose i am worse for engaging with him

you didnt , you kept going around in circles saying corks tradition is the reason ye are going to win the all ireland and corrupt referees are the reason ye lose all ireland finals 😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 131 ✭✭JoyceDavenport

You conveniently left out Clare's diving.

But don't worry I'm on top of it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,271 ✭✭✭Straight Talker

The man or woman has lost the plot blabbering on about the 70's and all that! It's doesn't matter how many past all Irelands you have or do not have they have to be earned. Cork just haven't done enough to earn them since 2005 sadly and all Irelands are harder to win now as well i reckon with all the extra games involved.

its also harder to win with the level of professional staff employed in back room teams , we have a top class S/C coach at the moment from poland , limerick used to have the munster rugby sports phycologist , these small changes are huge in the modern game its completely different to anything that has gone before which makes winning so much harder regardless of the county

i googled the name joyce davenport and hill street blues came up straight away so i am assuming its a finbars man 😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 131 ✭✭JoyceDavenport

It matters to me and those that won them.

I'm proud of our record across all grades and codes

Embrace it man. Don't shy away from it.

These guys are trying to belittle our achievements with recency bias

    Clare and Limerick 🤣

Btw It was harder when it was straight knockout .

One defeat and you were out

The current format is just a lopsided money racket.

Disappointing thread after a really good Munster championship day.

Delighted with Tipp. Played really well, first touch and skill levels very good all game and kept responding to adversity. Great workrate and a decent impact off the bench, the great Noel McGrath in particular. They would appear to be right in the mix now for qualification.

I would qualify it slightly with that IMO it was a poorer Limerick performance than I expected. Disjointed, sloppy and conditions probably didn't suit their short game. Be it throws or giving away long range frees, they kept Tipp in the game when normally they would kick on.
