    Hi all

Looking for some advice here. I’m looking to buy a compact folding treadmill simply for walking on days where it’s lashing or too late to go out. Something like the Xaomi WalkingPad would be ideal, but they don’t seem to sell them in Ireland.

ideally I’d like one with a safety bar that folds down, as even when walking I have terrible balance. And I’d like to keep it as cheap as possible - like €200/300.

Anyone got a unicorn like that out there that they would recommend?

I have the €199 version for the last year and a half, not foldable though, but works great.

Too low to use on carpet without wood under the feet as it would sink in and the belt would rub on the carpet

Does it go to the 10km per hour? Really considering it but read reviews that differ. I mainly want it for jogging.

Well the display reads 10 kph, I don't know if it actually is 10kph, it seems to slow a bit at slower speeds at least when you get on it.

I only use it for walking so have not needed to use it above 7kph.

Any update on how these are holding up. Frequent use. I see on some forums motor burn out is an issue with some models

I was lucky to buy an other make as the belt was out of line but it is a monster of a thing and had to be stripped to get it through the door frames.

Might you have bothered to check Adverts or Donedeal to see if anything listed.

done deal has some but I want to try buy with a warranty. I have been stung with a questionable site and have had to do a charge back. So I am looking for alternative brands that just work

Must be plenty of sports stores on the internet that supply commercial and home stuff and some have feedback left. Depends in what you want in strength , size , and user weight and if parts are readily available.

I tried buying off https://walkingpad.ie/ but it appears to be a scam site. I have not got my money back and have began a charge back.

Would indicate that its a site not worth buying from

they left a reply on trusted pilot but I just checked and my charge back has just arrived in my bank.

I have ordered from amazon.ie us irish are already being screwed. as the European price across the rest of europe is 30 euro cheaper than the irish site. its sold by amazon so at least I have a warranty that will be honoured if it goes wrong

I am still waiting for it to dispatch

just an update, even though this is sold by Amazon EU. Order placed 20 march and it is expected May 30th

Just checked your link and seems mad 9 in stock and delivery so far in the future.

I had a CS call with them to ask about their stock and the long delay, I was told alot of CS misinformation/ diversion stuff. A high demand product long lead time. I said its in stock with 9 showing, why cant you send me one of them. Now I cant be sure what she meant with her reply as it is seemed like she was saying that orders are allocated off this stock which I said you mean these are sold and still showing as available for the last few days.

I also asked about amazon sold products being different prices in different EU countries with the same stock level showing. The CS agent was adamant that the different Amazon distribution centres would have different stock levels

So I again asked about a 3 month lead time on the product if there is stock in several locations across the amazon network. (including Ireland) and she gave up and went back to the script that they are doing as much as they can to full fill all orders bla, bla so I gave up.

Why have you not cancelled and ordered of. European store?

Is the Irish different in that it comes with a BS standard 3 pin socket. Might that be the delay ?

no, I would happily order from another store front, But Amazon has stopped this (at least for this product) I got stung from a fraud site and had to charge my money back and a lot of these products fail early. So for once I though amazon sold would be better and test the hell of out the product.

I wonder from a consumer protection point of view if warranty is from date of payment or date of receipt. As they are gong to take 3 months to deliver

I'm looking for a walker for a person who is not in great health (me!).

    Can't manage outdoor walking.

Would either of the two mentioned in this thread be good? Or something else?

Should I get one with an incline?

Is 6kph adequate for gentle exercise?

    Any pointers/advice appreciated.

Having an incline is harder on the body , for strengthening and just walking level might be handier.

Are both legs poor for walking you need a frame or a walking cane?

I bought this to help me walk better and got to walk around a football field which amazed me

6kph is a very good walking speed. you would fit to keep it up. An incline is nice to have but from looking at my Amazon ordered one you could just put it up on books to get the same result.

Have a few conditions. The one that most affects my ability to exercise is mitochondrial disease. I can totter about the house ok but my muscles immediately exhaust with any effort. I've been warned about clots so have to do something asap. So thinking a walker with lots of breaks is worth a try.

I bought mine from MC Sport….A Proform Carbon TL… a sturdy reliable machine. Just seeing that Proform have released an updated version of this….the TLS…just looks like an updated slightly nicer design, nothing radically different, doesn’t have smart touch / HD screens and that but I just hook my tablet up to it….sturdy and no issues, gets about 3 hours use a week and have had zero issues. Pretty quiet too. Very easy to fold and unfold.

I know it’s a lot more than your budget but in my experience going for low quality fitness equipment equals low quality experience…
