Internet Browser Crashing

Just a quick question. I'm trying to get on to (aswell as others):
    http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/
    http://www.skysports.com/

but the browser keeps crashing. I've tried both IE and Firefox but still the same. I could have 10 pages open and they'd all crash when I open a certain type of page.

What do those pages have in common that could be causing this?

    Cheers.

Have you got Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware...etc etc installed?
It could be a bit of Spyware or Adware which is badly written and causing the broswer to crash when it intercepts the address you put in..!!

have you got Java enabled etc, if so disable all images and try connecting.

Also it may be that the site overloads your system resources, what are your system specs?

Using IE I did trial and error by unticking certain boxes in the advanced tab in IE. When I untick Use HTTP 1.1 I am able to view all websites. Is that any help to finding what the problem is? How do I sort it out in Firefox?

I cleaned out my PC last week and must have deleted something I shouldn't have.

    Cheers.

    Yeah....both pages use javascript1.1

That's the only thing that I can see that they have in common tbh.

One site uses flash, but not both.

Is the only solution disabling it and what can I do in Firefox?

    Cheers.

While I haven't really got much of a clue what the above means I think that was what the problem was. A file called apptoport.dll was causing the problem. I ran ISP fix on one of my Spyware removal programs and it fixed it.

Thanks to all who replied. :)
