I am playing in the kildare grand final tonight. So the top 5 each night got decreasing amounts of chips varving from 2k to 500. I have 3750 and if not chip leader I am near enough.
AFAIK there is only 1 prize trip to vegas. There was talk of asking players to chip in €20 to give more prizes.I am sure that if the low stacks agree to this they will want more chips to play with. Say they get additional 2k what amount of chips should I look for for my €20.I would think that I have a 7.5/1 chip lead over the low stacks I should keep this I would need to have 18750(2500*7.5) what do others think?
I cant see the low stacks agreeing to put in money at all.

I can't see them agreeing to this either, and also it wouldn't be fair to you and the other chip leaders to have any chip lead you have eroded for a mere €20. You'd have to keep your proportional chip lead IMHO

IMO Jem you would be mad to agree to anything extra. You have a chip lead that has been grinded out over months of play. To have it eroded by people paying a mere €20 is an insult. If anything is suggested I think you should point this out and insist that you want to play the tourney as per the rules from the start. Good luck.

Lplate is spot on. don't give any advantage to the lower stacks. Stick to your guns. Best of luck.

absolutely agree. With 500 they are little threat to you. you can take on a number of them. With 2k more each, you can then only take on 2 of them before you are out.

Utterly bad idea, especially for a miserly 20 quid!

Well I shouldn't have boddered asking the question.
I fcuked up and was gone early enough.
I have never won a live game of poker having won the first hand. I won the first one on friday night.
An idea of my night was the only pp I got was aces in BB, the sB even folded before I was to act.
The big hand that fcuked me was where I was to the right of the dealer folded to me I had A/10Hearts, Blinds at 50/100. I raised to 500, one caller the bb. ( a maniac millionare, who bought back 1 night 15 times) Flop Qh,QD,10S. He bet 500 I called, Turn Jh. He bet 500 I re raised him all in( leaving me with 700) He called and turned over pocket kings.
    River crap.
    I am fcuked.
Go out a while later when my k10s ran into q/9 off preflop.
It was a good well run night and the 50+5 game apperared to be very good, with tap comming in second.( I missed out on buying into this by 5 min)

At least I met rustyspoon there.

That's no consolation for missing out on a free trip to Vegas though.

Enjoyed the game and the Freezeout was great to play in, good starting chips and nice blind levels. Lost out when my QQ took on a K3o and lost, then my 88 didn't improve against TT.

Who won the Vegas trip and who won the FO and who is Tap?

The vegas trip - deal done between 1st & 2nd even split, 2 kildare lads AFAIK.
The f/o was also won by kildare chap, he had a big stack most of the night, smallish, thin fella.
Tap is my "little" ;) brother who also posts here.

Another example of the kind of night I had was i a stt that I played in after geting knocked out of final.
Raised 4 times bb with AKs was called in 2 places, flop a93, raised and called in 1 place, turn 3. called a reasonable bet river blank. yourman turned ove 9/3 off for a house of 9's over 3's. WTF was he doing playing with 9/3 off.
    He was only in sb.
    one of those nights.
