Right so, since the ice-skating idea didnt exactly take off how about we do some traditional beering instead? And what better time to get merry than christmas! :p

So ladies and gents, when are your christmas exams finished and when can you go for a few christmas drinkies?

    yoes....insomnia is fantastic eh?

anyhoo....since this beerage will most likely be during the christmas holidays, the venue will not be on-campus.
The Porterhouse is always nice, but perhaps we could try somewhere else?

When would people be up for it?

(and yes Mr. Grimes, you better be in attendance!......you too MNG. if that *is* your real name)

20th could work. Thats assuming people wont find it too close to christmas and dont mind that its a tuesday.
I'll be working 1-10pm that day but could make an appearance afterwards.

Lets see what the unwashed masses say :)

Here is an example of Grimes thinking outside the box

Why not organise two? With then days apart in different places. SOme may attend one, som the other and for real boards posters Both? Just an Idea

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,097 ✭✭✭BKtje

you just want an excuse to get drunk twice huh grimes (not that you need one! :p)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,894 ✭✭✭Chinafoot

    Hehe, yea ya raging alco!

well i have my work party on the 17th, but tbh if i miss it i wont be too sad :p

although its probably better to have it maybe after new years.... especially if most people arent finished exams til the 22nd and then some will most likely be heading back home to wherever it is they're from.

maybe something on the 5th or 6th of january?

cool....so we'll say Thursday 12th for now unless there are a good few that cant make it.

As for venue......do we want to go to the trusty Porterhouse (tried and tested as Grimes pointed out) or do we want to try somewhere new?

As I am obviously biased on this matter I will not make any suggestions... but I know where you all live... if you ever want to see the puppy alive again I know you will make the right choice...

DIT isn't that close, you must be thinking of a different place...

I'd have to second this tbh! *anywhere* but doyles for the love of god!

OOOOH we could go to the Longstone! A few of us were there a few weeks ago and we got the snug....we rang a bell and the bar staff came to us!! Deadly little window!

And they do a cracking mixed platter ;)

Its a nice place with nice pints and nice bar staff. And I'm sure we could get enough of us to rule the snug! :p

**edit** and if we get really hammered and fancy a boogie, Doyles is just a few minutes away.

(I feel dirty for even suggesting it but still, the option is there)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,750 ✭✭✭ghostchant

i'll definitely try and go to this...seeing as i've missed them all so far :v:
