The SSF Poker Game... and boozeup!

Here's the deal:

Last year we ran a great tourney (very fun) with Suited Aces versus the Fitz with a % of the take going to the SSF.

This year I want to do it again with Boards vs the Fitz. The idea will be to play a 50 euro game (no reg fee, thanks Luke!) with 20 going to the charity and the rest going to the prizepool.

Date: Sunday the 11th. (NB!!)
Time: 4pm. Last entries at 4:30.
Place: The Fitzwilliam Card Club.

Now this is a nice way to spend Saturday afternoon. So I suggest that we kick on into the night and have a Boards Poker Forum XMas Drinks night on the same day and make a day of it. We were talking about a drinks night recently and this seems like a perfect opportunity.

So, if you can play please comment here, if you can deal and are willing to, please state so here too as I need dealers to keep the costs down.
(dealer may play if they want btw!).

I don't want people to feel underpressure at this event. 20-25% is going to SSF, what you do with the rest is your concern (though obviously, donations gratefully received on behalf of the charity!)

Afterwards we'll all wander around to the bar (whats the name of the one with the nice smoking area near Tesco? McGraths?). Unless I can source some sponsorship for some beer or wine

Sunday would have suited me much better aswell...my XMas outing is on the Saturday,paint baling and then beers.

The main problem with Sunday is the 30FO, hopefully we get 80 or so for the SSF but if 60 turn up expecting a 30FO there wont be room and it wouldnt be fair to turn them away when its advertised etc.

Also Saturday means a booze up after

how bout the following saturday (17th)? i dont expect it to be moved to suit me but clashin with the vegas night big one is a point and a few can't make it already.

do really want to play and drink with everyone though

will leave it to majority.

Sat or Sun is fine for me.. I take Oscars point about Sunday.. It makes more sense to do it Saturday for the reasons mentioned.

I have my christmas work night out fri 9th.. so i'll be recovering at the table.... any takers for a pre-poker pint or two in larrys? I'll certainly need it..

A lot of people here werent able to make Saturday. Its been reduced to 50 as a lot of people will turn up for the 30FO and may still pay 50. Also the time has changed to 4 for the same reason

Yup, its a 30+20 game now on Sunday as it clearly worked better for the majority and should increase the take for the charity too.

Pity, Saturday was fine for me, but Sunday is out (I think).

It was a great game last year, the standard was very high. Definately as good/better than any of the €100+ games in the Fitz. There was even some dude in a dress, if I'm not mistaken...

Seems like a good idea. I'd probably have been playing the 30 anyway, so and extra 20 to charity is the least I could do.

There will be open invite posters going up in the Fitz tonight. Everyone is invited and provided we get enough people we'll play a boards vs the Fitz (and through FOS in there too if they want to be completely outnumbered!

Go ahead and do boards names first. Just ignore the Fitz.
