Ok, i've recently discovered i'm more of an old school rocker that i first thought and that i don't really need ANY pedals, bar the neccessary ones(ge7, tu2), i don't really use any effects, just distortion, however i'm lacking in the reverb dept, that's all i really need.

So what's the best reverb pedal?

    Those are essential?

On a serious note, the electro harmonix stuff is supposed to be excellent, so the Holy Grail might be the one for you. See if you can try it out somewhere first though.

well, the TU2 imo, is essential, or rather some form of tuner. The GE7 is optional, i don't have one yet, but can't wait to get one..

Yeah, i was thinking of the Holy Grail alright.

    Alrighty, you need a tuner. What's a GE7 though?

Graphic EQ - Some people use it to shape their tone, some use it as a boost, i'll use for both..

    Linky

Jcoote would swear by the GE7, where is he anyhoo?

Ah right you are so. I'm more of a bare minimum kind of player, Guitar ---> Amp, with nothing in the signal chain. No effects, no pedals, nothing. If you need to stick a few pedals infront of your amp before you can get your sound from it, then I'd say the amp isn't for you. But that's just how I look at things. ;)

well, i think a GE7 *could* improve the tone of any amp if used correctly. If i can improve my tone with such a thing then why not, i love the amp as it is as well, but nothing's perfect, not even a Mesa, H&K, Peavy, Deisel, no amp will give you everything you need imho.

    Anyway, so err, yeah.. reverb?:)

You've no idea how good a tone can sound until you use an eq pedal imo.

Get a reverb/delay pedal if you can. Boss do one which is supposed to be quite good. I think that, as greaty as reverb is, sometimes a delay on the sound works better.

The Holy Grail is class but I'm looking at getting the next model up, The Holier Grail which is sexness in reverb form.

You could just sell it all and get a microcube. The reverb is not too bad from it. Its no pedal tho.

the first amp i ever had was a fender frontman i think, i pulled it out of storage last night and it sounds ****ing beautiful, and it has reverb, but i'm hardly going to drag a practise amp up on stage now am i?

    So me needs a pedal;)

Nah, I'd say you haven't played enough amps. You can do some wicked stuff with the guitar sound using an EQ... but if your amp ain't got the tone, it ain't got the tone.

well, my amp does have the tone. I'm not saying it doesn't, and i'm not buying a GE7 because it doesn't, i'm buying one because it may give me a bit more control over the tone..

Fúcking hell people.. so anyway, Reverb:rolleyes:

The RV-6 is supposed to be pretty versatile, haven't heard one yet though.

    Anyone?
