I am surprised that one hasn't already been posted. I've been lazy and lifted the categories from the last two episode polls. As for this episode it did nothing for me at all, although the use of a very old storyline could have gone somewhere but it didn't . Colour by numbers episode.

Same here, I wasn't really impressed with it. I am surprised though that they destroyed the ship and even more so that it was destroyed so easily. It does not bode well for Earth if thats the power of the Ori weapons.

Bye bye Prometheus :( That's a bit of a shame. They now have no ship to fight the Ori at the season end as Daedalus will be in Pegasus. I don't remember the original episode that these people were in, I might have missed it.

Once again, another SG1 episode going nowhere.

I didn't think it was brilliant, but it was definitely above average. Serious repercussions for the upcoming finale....

I for one, have been one of SG-1's harshest critics, up until now. Perhaps I was in a slightly better mood when watching this episode over some other episodes but I dont think so. I think this was just generally a much better episode. The story was more involving, the characters were less transparent, it relied less shoddy action scenes and more on the story telling. All in all, I quite enjoyed this episode and hope its a sign of things to come.

thought it was above average but what really brought it down were the terrible handycam action scenes, they just dont suit the show & make the sets look really tacky

the cg stuff was pretty cool, but a few plot holes keep poping into my head everytime i think about it

Good episode continues on the ori story nicely, **FUTURE EPISODE SPOILER STUFF**
as you people worrying about ships in the season finale, don't worry there's a very nice surprise coming.

Well I liked this but then, last year, I was one of the few people to like "Icon" (the episode that introduced the Caledonians and Ran group last year).

Sure now the parallels with WW2, etc, are heavy handed but I liked the dark grimy feel here and the extreme sense of distrust that had Warden Leo "Oz" Glynn go for a coup d'etat. I like that darkness...

And then there was, of course, the destruction of the Prometheus. I thought this was done quite well, although I'd have appreciated more focus on just how the Ori blasted through Asgard shields so easily. It certainly looked pretty and, with the Daedalus acting as the Pegasus galaxy shuttle bus, it certainly makes for a potentially interesting finale.

Yes, with the Orii obviously containing the knowledge of how to get through Asgard shield technology I think we might aswell just tell the Asgard that we are all screwed if the Orii invade. I think that the Asgard would be quite interested in it.

The fact that they can build such a system using technology from what can only be precieved as an early cold-war stage era on the planet means that they [the Orii] can easily adapt their systems to run on old technology. I wonder how many other planets in the same technical advancement as the Caledonians / Ran have been visited by the Orii's and maybe even given similar designs.

Obiviously the Orii can even use a planet of "worshipers" to build a similar system of sattelites to protect that planet from attack by Ga'uld or Asgard ships [Earth doesnt really have anymore after the Deadalus which I dont think they are willing to loose] and use that 'protected' planet as a foothold into our Galaxy.

Did you think that about 'Icon' last year?

I liked this episode, it was morbid and unpredictable.

The return to the 'Icon' story was very well done and the poignancy throughout was brilliant. Some great writing and directing.

From the title I knew Promteheus would get a beating but I didn't think she would be lost like that. However, while I like these type of events that keep you on the edge of your seat, it feels liek it was another strained attempt at desperatly trying to keep people interested, akin to their constant guest appearances.

All in all though, it was still very good and I give it a high rank.

I’m still holding out for an armada of Deadalus class ships TBH! Does anyone recall the start of the season? There was massive debate on the budget of the Stargate program and now with the impending danger of the Ori I'm sure the president and the joint chiefs will spare no cost on at least a few Deadalus class ships! Although what are they gonna do if Ori Weapons can penetrate there shields? Still, I can see a major battle in space brewing!

End of battle..... What the hell is that on our long range sensors???? Looks like.... looks like a hive ship that the Atlantis expedition have encountered! End of season.......

O and I will also get the opportunity to see the season premier of both SG1 and Atlantis and BSG in July on SCI-FI as I will be moving to Boston for 6months at the end of March!

pfft, we all know sam will develop some new type of shields, based on an unsusstainable tech that, is unlikely to work but will have to be tested at the last moment, in battle, by mitchell, in the field, and it will end up working and then because the tech is unsustainable it wont be used again for ages.

    its classic story telling

Detecting a hint of sarcasm there.

I have a feeling though, that the season finale will not be decided with a gigantic space battle. Oh, dont get me wrong, there will be a giant space battle, but they'll win with the help of the Ancients or some nugget of information locked away in Daniels brain or perhaps something even more unexpected.

Btw, did we ever hear anything more about the Harcesus (spelling and I dont care :p) child, apart from that episode where he gives daniel all the evil knowledge. Although, i guess nowadays its all slightly redundant what with Ancient/Asgard tech at their disposal...

Oh and does anyone know the name or episode number that involves Baal and clones, I must have missed it as its all news to me.

No, the producers already said that 'Shifu' won't be in this season.

The episode with Ba'al and his clones is called 'Ex Deus Machina'...episode 7.

I quite liked it. Especially the destruction of the prometheus was a nice touch.

Some speculations. Presumably the Asgard shields werent effective because the satellite was charged from the Ori staff?

(One of the characters says he touched it with his staff or words to that effect)

We already know that given enough power the Ori can cover a whole planet in a force field, why should we be surprised that they can carve Asgard Shields like cheese!

I also liked the return to a world that was nice and gritty. Liked the character whose wife Daniel shagged in the previous episode on that planet.

Also I presume all the F302's were shipped back through the stargate? Have we ever seen a 302 fly through a gate?

I thougth this episode was 'above average' - not the best of the season but my no means the worst.

Some things were left out - for example the memorial service, but I guess that if they put that in it would only lead to another rushed ending.

Thank God Mitchell wasn't making as many comments a la Jack in this episode. If he developed his own character then he would be a lot easier to tolerate, IMO.

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure daniel didnt shag "yore mans" wife in any previous episodes, there was some sexual tension between daniel and her, something he picked up on but that was it.

he should have! couldnt believe they blew up the ship :(

I'm certain if Kirk... sorry em, Sheperd had of been there, he would have. Alas the sexual tension was awkward annoying enough, however given enough time (and almost definitely if the hubby had of been taking out of the picture) I'm sure daniel would have "hit that"!

i may have been slightly sarcastic, but hey, i will probably still be right.

it can be explained with the following mathmatical equation

me (peter)= rules * (square root of 16) - Ever

DONT F302S have hyperpsace drives now?

    They do indeed.
And now, they would not fit through the gate.

    From gatewolrd.net
The F-302 can be deconstructed to be moved through the Stargate, and be reconstructed on the other side. [...]

Like its predecessor, the F-302 cannot sustain a hyperspace conduit for any extended period of time, due to the instability of naquadria, used to power the hyperspace engine. But, also like its predecessor, it is capable of short bursts at hyperspace, covering several kilometers in an instant.
