As far as I know the mocks are a school-organised thing so you'll not be finding them on the internet, and also, some schools may have them at different times.

It was the end of January/start of February last year for me...

It varies from school to school. Some schools don't even have them. Mine start Jan 31st for 2 weeks 'til the Mid-Term.

Oh right, I thought the Mocks were standardised like the Junior Cert. Thanks for the information lads. I think they are starting on the Wednesday after the Mid-Term in my school, of couse the useless teachers in my school don't know, what a surprise.

NO NEED TO RUB IT IN!!!
I is gonna fail Maths Christmas Test, and possibly Mocks...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 936 ✭✭✭marshmallow

Eh.. I haven't started studying. I actually really want to get into it but I'm finding time to sit down and get the books out! Mocks are in 6weeks! Studying over christmas...:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,016 ✭✭✭lilmissprincess

6 WEEKS??????????????????????????? My life is officially over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

My mocks are in 5 weeks I think...

I'll be going to Bauhaus (if I get in) the saturday before my mocks which'll probably show in the results...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 936 ✭✭✭marshmallow

I'm going to be in Cork playing matches the week end before me mocks and that will probably show in my mocks too. It's the worst time to have it.

I got my timetable today and I have something everyday and some of my friends get 2 days off the way the choice subjects are arranged.

My mocks start the week after the midterm so around the 20th of February and I havent started studying yet!I always mean to then get distracted or something.I'm starting after school study next week cause I know if I didn't I wouldn't study til the night before as I usually do!

Oh yes I have not touched geography at all either! Every time I start I just say I know this and then give up! Everyone keeps saying how the mocks are nothing and only a practise so everyone in my school just isn't bothering at all!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

I bothered more for my mocks than my JC, really. Turned out okay.*

*I am not endorsing not studying for the JC. Eh... study. =)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 167 ✭✭Apple Gal

Mmm maths will not be good! I've been giving a question evry night for hw from the higher level papers and I haven't been able to do one question! There too hard!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

Bah I'm so unprepared for the mocks...but rather than studying for them I come online to moan and bitch and whinme about how badly I'm going to fail.

    Beats studying :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 167 ✭✭Apple Gal

Awhhh me too! And complain about the little amount of studying I am doing when I should be doing it instead of telling the world about not doing it!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 175 ✭✭StJimmy

My Mocks are quite late - they don't start until some time in March and end the day before St.Paddy's Day!

But it all depends on your school.

Now, now. Talk to mumsie and dadsie :v: and ask them for assistance. Claim you've never done formal exams before and would appreciate their help and patience. Agree something with them that if you do X amount of study and get Y grades in the mocks that you will be given peaceful use of your room for study without aggravation from your siblings / forgiven chores / allowed have a night out / whatever floats your boat.

Now if you actually have a problem studying, ask for someone who is good at that subjec to help, be that, parent, sibling, cousin, neighbour, etc.

WOW that is late if ya ask me! I'd like to get them over and done with so I could concentrate on the real thing!

Haha yeah, I suppose. But I'm just over my Christmas exams and I kinda want a break.

Ya see in my school we don't have Christmas exams! It's great! In normal years you just have Feb and Summer exams and it's the same on 3rd year, the mocks and jc!

God, I thought my school was the only one starting really early. I thought most were after midterm. Mine start the 31st, so ten days. Haven't done enough work. Still have another week to get work done but I know I won't be that bothered. When it comes to my results I will be!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer
