i've heard rumours that it will have crossover capablities to the revolution but is that just a little bit too far fetched???

Maybe with the DS... or perhaps it could have some sort of interaction with the 'other' Zelda title Nintendo are working on for the Revolution, like Metroid Prime and Fusion, new costumes etc...

There was a rumour that the revolution controller would work with it when played on the machine but nintendo are denying it. I wouldn't be surprised if they kept this back for the revolutions release.

Remember there are a few surprises left to be announced for the Revolution and the developement time for this game has been TOO long not take advantage of the Revolution in some way, just unsure how
Nintendo in its infinite wisdom will reveal all at E3 me thinks, that's not till May 10-12, bugger, that's three months away.

i know thats almost......4 months!!!i half expected they would hang on and have it as a launch title for the revo. not so sure now however.

i read something where they said they didn't wanna disappoint cube owners and that it would indeed be released for it. rather than being a rev title, which some had suggested
perhaps will have additional features only available on the rev, i.e. the magic wand thing. they cant not release it for the cube though

Ah found out the issue. When Nintendo delayed Twilight they said they wouldn't give any details again till their next fiscal year which doesn't start till *drum roll* April 1st so bets are being hedged that is all. November is unlikely but so is April.

It would be clever financially to have a zelda game for the Rev at launch even if it is only a GC game thats backwards compatible with it.

it qould alright but as a cube owner i would feel a little cheated if they did that. it is the last great tittle in production for the cube that comes to my mind.

But "as a cube owner" you know you are gonna buy a revolution right?

I don't care how Revolution-compatible it is, I just want my goddamn Zelda! I'm seriously considering replaying Ocarina of Time when I finish We Love Katamari...

im a cube owner....i dont need you or nintendo to assume that i'll buy a rev
i might, its by no means a certainty though
still more likely than a ps3 or xbox360 though

Read the denials again, they didn't deny it at all. What they denied (no less than three times in the same press release) is saying there'd be crossover capability.

I reckon what happened was the mag that released the info (being an official nintendo mag) did it a little earlier than Nintendo wanted... Everyone heard and freaked about the idea that the game wouldn't ship until the Rev came out. Nintendo sweep in to control the issue.

Later that year, peeps put the Zelda disc in the rev and get new controller functionality ;)

    From http://www.britishgaming.co.uk/?p=551
Nintendo’s Reggie announced on Spike TV (a lifestyle/gaming TV network in the states) that The Legend of Zelda – Twilight Princess will be receiving an autumn release over in America. Due to all these delays, we should be getting a sweet, well polished finished product!
Unfortunately, our ties with Europe mean we’ll be seeing Twilight Princess in around late winter, or 2007 unless Nintendo have some kind of worldwide release planned.

More European details will be on BGB as soon as possible.

I will import this as soon as it is released in any English-speaking territory. (my Japanese is not good enough to play through a Zelda game nihongo-style) Go stupidly easy Cube importing. :)

And over there, Autumn is something like Sept. 21-Dec. 20. That's not that great of news.

Apparently, there'll be an official date at E3 for retailers, I wonder if Smyths have changed the sign yet for the release schedule, despite not actually selling GC games.

The game will most likely be finished before E3, if not before Mid-April. This looks like Nintendo are wanting to cash in with the Revolution and the game itself.

Think about it, they're trying to push Revolution, obviously, Gamecube is dead to them from a certain point of view. With a release so close to the Revolution, they can near-guarantee that it'll have Revolution sell. The fact that, by the time of release, the Gamecube will be outdated to quite an extent, no new buyer is really going to go out a buy the old hardware to play the game, without noticing, that hardly anything else is being published in the future, and that GC Stock in shops might as well be gone by then.

They'll buy the new system, Revolution to play this game, and probably get Prime 3, SSB Revolution, and Mario 128 while they're at it.

But why would Nintendo leave it on Gamecube? Simple! Those who have a cube and are still not swayed to purchase a Revolution, will certainly buy this game. Thus, adding to the profit made from the game on both systems.

You can bet there's going to be something on the box saying it's Revolution compatible, and on the Revolution box "Plays Gamecube games!" or something to an even bigger extent.

Nintendo have always been terrible for delaying games. Remember Perfect Dark on the 64? I ate half of my N64 in sheer despair.

Oh and Resident Evil 0 too... it was suposed to be an N64 title, got delayed a few years and the even more so for its port to the Gamecube.

Well all the delayed games listed have been by developers other than Nintendo. A lot of the horrible delays in games for the N64 were Rare games.

I kind of expected this. Zelda games have always suffered long delays and Nintendo will never bring one out unless it is nothing less than perfect.

I have no doubt this will be the most fantastic game ever. So far I've seen epic boss battles, realistic and randomised weather, artistic graphics, and dozens of minor gameplay twists that Wind Waker should have had (such as having a dog you can play fetch with, although this does make Nintendogs superfluous). Oh, and you can canoe. Finally!

And that was all from the E3 demo - which was compiled 10 months ago, and no where near a reflection of the stage the game was at then. Add a year of solid Nintendo development, and this will be well worth the wait. Particularly when awesome new gameplay elements like horse battles and wolving await.

So in the mean time, replay Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, or the plethora of other Zelda titles that have made this the pinnacle of video game franchises.
