It can't be harder than a cello/double bass, unless you're reading tabs or something ...

Some do, some don't. You're just supposed to play by ear.

Aye, fret markers will only show you roughly whereabouts your fingers should be but real accuracy is all in the ear :)

Nice one, Slurms, Master DiGiorgio would be pleased! ;)

Uber Klasse, Slurms! Real men play fretless! ;)

On the 'how to play' note, I would think that you also pay a lot more attention to finger intervals and get them into muscle memory.

His playing on "Dracula" is one of the reasons I was wanting a fretless :p

Doc J: Pickups are very nice. Alot of versatility with the 2 band EQ and they're very hot.

And as to how much it cost. It was 588 euro including delivery form Thomann.

From memory most fretless basses I've seen (any any i've played) have side dot markers to give you a rough whereablouts even if they dont have markers on the face of the fretboard.

After playing guitar or bass for years it's supprising how accurate you can find notes on a fretless. And man! sliding scales... mmmmmmm nice! T'is a beaute Slurms!
