1st scalps game is starting in the SE tonight AFAIK. I think it's €50+€10+€5. I havn't played the Fitz scalps in ages so definitely going to head in tonight.

    Anyone else?

I've never played a scalps tournie before - how does it work, you get the tenner scalp each time you knock someone out?

if I'm right, how does this affect the way people play?

I might turn up tonight - feel like there is a big choice now between the 4 casinos...if I am feeling REALLY confident I'll play the Fitz EOM.

It is good to have choice alright, but there does not seem to be the demand for 4 cardrooms with nightly tournaments. Places getting less than 20 for tournaments illustrates that point. Most people will have favourite nights and just stick to those.

See you in the Fitz then Paul ;)

Yeah for sure. Friday seems to be Fitz scalps, Thursday the SE Double Chance. I think the scalps on Weds could be a good addition though. I don't think there is the demand for the number of cardrooms now, though there are new faces arriving all the time.

The SE double chance is bound to lose numbers...correct me if im wrong but its a 3k stack(total) with 25/50 blinds and no 150/300 level!crapshoot!! Ive played about 5 tournies in SE,got to final 3times, the last being the €75 dc(4kstack), we got to the final 7,nobody had more than 8bbs,no clock was frozen and i waved bye bye to the Emporium since. They make the $3 speed rebuys on Tribeca look deepstacked

In the early days with poor players it was worth mixing it up with these guys even with the poor structure but the field profile is changing there and I wholeheartedly agree with Willis I've never been at the FT or close to the FT when it wasn't a crapshoot. What's happening now is even the poor players know they need to start pushing or folding once it hits the two hour game mark and there is very little edge for a good player versus the field.

The TDs running the show don't have enough sense to freeze the blinds and aren't willing to listen on this issue. It's a shame because they have a lovely setup for playing a nice game of cards apart from this issue. I'll be trying out the jackpot club soon to see if they offer a real alternative but as I also intend scaling back my play during the week I'm not too pushed about the SE right now.

never played a scalps game before..

is this part of the new tourney schedule or are the SE just experimenting with a change here and a change there at the moment?

I agree that the double chance does become a crapshoot. I'm not sure what tonights starting stack size is going to be. I too have complained about the 3000 chips and the lack of a 150-300 level to no avail.

As for losing numbers, I actually disagree. It's the same faces playing that tourney every single week since the very beginning. Most of them are regular SE cash players too and most don't know the difference between deep stacked and short stacked tourneys.

Certainly though, the TDs tehre need to start listening to the masses regarding stack sizes and blind levels etc.

Is the scalps tourney rebuy or FO?
What other games are on tonight in other 'gentlemans clubs' and what are the cash tables like in the SE?

There's a full list of daily events on the antesup website:

    Tournaments

The Jackpot club has a thread with their tourneys listed somewhere in this forum.

Cash tables in the SE are fun 1/2 min 50 buy-in affairs.

Sorry, i just saw it on Sunday night cos John was handing them around. Off the top of my head:

Tuesday is satellites for Pokermillions, WSOP etc
    Wednesday - Scalps - Either €40+€10+€5 or €50+€10+€5
    Thursday - €50 Double Chance
    Saturday - I think it's a scalps game as well but I can't remember
Sunday is now a €50 freezeout

Just found out that the new formats aren't coming in until the start of June! So its just the regular 75 double chance tonight!

Apologies to anyone who went in for the scalps. My bad.

You should be shot...and forced to watch 'Cheaper By The Dozen 2' as you slowly die...

Visualising that is painful enough. I ended up 3rd when i lost a race with QJs vs 55, leaving me crippled with 5k and blinds at 1k/2k.
