For any Americans, happy Indepenence day!
There used to be a lot of events and promos around the country a few years back for the 4th... doesnt seem to be a whole lot on now.
Anyone know of any free BBQs, events etc.. on in Dublin (or anywhere around the country) for it? Wouldn't mind heading out tonight to break up the week.
Oh, and keep American bashing out of this thread..... ta.

I read last week that there are 100,000 US Citizens in Ireland... you'd think there'd be more on alright.

Back when TGI Fridays on the green was the chicago pizza pie factory they used to have great 4th July parties.
Only 2 I know of now are the IFSC barbeque and the shindig in the american ambassadors residence in the phoenix park

Well it's a barbeque in the IFSC and is normally a ticket only thing for the banks within the IFSC, so if you know anyone working in there give them a buzz and see if they have a ticket spare.

incidently today there is a sun spot directly facing earth. It is so big you can see it with the naked eye (with the right equipment! don't look directly :p ).

Should be a light show tonight/tomorrow.

    BBQ? IFSC? Ticket event? Banks?

    No such thing.

Perhaps a private do, but there is no intra-bank-IFSC event.

Well in the 90's there was always an IFSC event for all the banks. I worked for a dutch bank outside the IFSC but we always got tickets through our sister company who were based in the docks.
