Ok so the date is set for this and it will be a one night event.

    The question is:

Do we have it as an Investigation like last time (but better)?
    or
Do we have it as a social event for a dozen lucky Paranormal Forum users?

I'm easy either way as long as we pick one or the other. The last time, while fun, seemed to me at least to be a bit too much of a muddle of both. (That's not to say that we couldn't have paranormal aspects to a social night or social aspects to a paranormal night)

I agree, either a proper investigation or a social night with paranormal elements.

Hey guys. I'm a newbie here but very interested. Is there some way I could get involved with this or should I wait until I've participated in the discussions a little more? Investigation is something that has always interested me but until now I have never made a move to get involved.

    Cheers.

Well we've yet to decide on whether this will be an investigation or a social event but sure as long as your over 18 theres no reason why you cant get involved.

Its very early to be organising this but seeing as i've booked the castle i may as well see what the interest is.

I saw the back of my 18th some time ago....! :) I'd be very interested in participating or helping out in any way.

Good to hear it KittyKat, you've been missed lately. And while you're about would you prefer it as an investigation or a knees up?

    Hiya dib,

No you're not alone, I'm only a newbie. Could turn into an interesting night with a few newbies around I reckon.

Oh and pay no attention whatsoever to these old timers!!(he he):D

At this stage I have to point out at this (just like the others) will not be done on a first come first served basis. Once I start getting numbers I will probably be asking people to drop me and email. It usually set 10 for this place but last time with 8 it went very well. Like i said its early days on this one.

What are you trying to say 6th? This will not be on a first come first served basis? Confused now

that's the way he does it ladybird. TBH when i saw it on the other thread for the first time in Ross Castle 12 aug trip, I said to myself what does that mean? and it can be easy to see this statement as if it directed towars "you". However when you put yourself in 6th position, who knows who people are, he may know that some people are not suited or he may not know them at all, to some degree regardless of what bits of paper we all sign 6th as some level of a duty of care towards himself and everyone who goes on a trip that he has been good enough to organise. You might be a nice person and so might I but its still only a might at the end of the day and everyone on the trip will be better off/safer as a result of 6ths statement.

    >_> what he said.

Safety is my first priority, my own and everyone elses.

No thats not to say that if someone doesnt get a place on a trip its because I think they are a psycho. I've been contacted in the past by people as young as 15, people who want to do ouija boards and people who (on looking at their posts) I think may be doing it for the wrong reasons. At the end of the day i want to have people there i am comfortable with and that will work well as part of a group.

If people have a problem with my safety concerns then they really arent the people i want to be in a dark and potentially dangerous situation with. They always have the option of organising trips themselves, I am just a poster here and anyone else is free to do what i do.

Nothing but good sense right there. Obviously, anyone organising such an event
is taking a serious risk by including people they have never met.

Nobody knows how people will react to any given situation, especially one as
highly charged and potentially stressful as a paranormal investigation(no matter
how social and informal the setting). As I'm sure you're all aware, this can
pose a grave risk to the person in question and those around them. While the
responsibility may not legally land on the organiser's shoulders, it will surely
    be felt or assumed nonetheless.

No offence taken at all, and if I'm not in attendance, good luck!!

this paranormal // tallaght link needs to be investigated.
All the original soulsearchers gang are from tallaght, dip, 6th, steven, that's just the ones I know of, that's about half the people I know in this area. Surely there must be loads of ghosts over there to have inspired so many people.

Actually come to think of it Heff09 is originally from Tallaght too, we did manage to knock it out of him but it's interesting all the same mybe 6th you could do a Kenny Craig on him and put him under, bring out the Tallaght in him.

"Look into my eyes, the eyes, the eyes, look into my eyes not around the eyes, the eyes... the eyes... the eyes... into the eyes, 3.2.1 you're under...

    sorry about that steve,
there are 35 people in my office only one is interested in the paranormal, he has loads of books and has gone looking with friends before etc and yes he's from Tallaght (nobody else here is, he slipped through the tallaght filter on his application form) I think there's is something in it, maybe life there is so bad that you guys really hope that there is life after tallaght ?? :p I don't know, anyway on a more serious note there could be something in it.

Lets look at the fact that its a really old place and with a population of about 110,000 we get more people dying per sq.ft. than less densely populated places.

    Anyway ...... BACK ON TOPIC!

Stoner are you going to t his even if its more a social event than investigation?

sorry for messing the thread lads,
6th yes I am interested either way, if it works out I'll bring the heat logs cos it will be nippy there in november, I didn't know you were asking me about that earlier sorry, I'd be driving again etc if anyone wants a lift but it's early days for such details.

It will be lads and lassies and i'm thinking it wont be a party so much as a semi-social gathering of paranormal enthusiasts with discussion of the investigation process.

Sounds good to me keeping it paranormal etc but informal, its a great spot for that sort of thing.

I was being tongue in cheek. I realise we're not total yahoos.:) Just an investigation, but on a more relaxed scale, yes?

I'm think an relaxed investigation where we start off with a bit of a laugh, try out a few things and then instead of falling asleep scattered around the castle at 4-5am we settle down at about 2 and have a bit of craic.

Actually, you're right about something; Tallaght and the surrounding areas are actually quite active! In my experience, I've heard of quite a few "cases" in Tallaght and Clondalkin collectively, most notably on the radio in the case of Tallaght. There is also the fact that the name Tallaght means "The Pague Cemetary", which means there may be an awful lot of bodies buried in hat area.. never mind the fact that you have the Hellfire Club nearby too!

All in all, I do think there is something about Tallaght...
