I don't see why this kid gets such hype(I understand why MTV2 loves him, he is white and plays a guitar you see).Sure he has a few clever tracks and if you are a teenage girl on the brink of suicide this will no doubt have you reaching for the pills, but other then that why would you want to listen to such nihilistic and depressing trash?

Anyway if Plan B is your thing, then check out his new EP:
Plan B is planning to release a brand new EP entitled "Plan B Live at the Pet Cemetery" consisting of new recordings, a video and two previously unheard tracks all recorded live over this summer at Pet Cemetery Studios in London on August 21. Backing singers, a pianist, and strings were all brought in for the special one-off session.

Amongst the track list is "No More Eatin'" a Rage Against The Machine and Radiohead influenced track, the soulful and rhythm n' blues based "Broke" and "My Life," an x-rated rail against fashion-followers and opinionated people who are all trying to get a piece of Plan.

Personally i like Plan B....i'm not saying he's great or anything, but i like listening to his stuff. I guess the reason i like his is because he is simply singing about what he knows....his ma went out with a crackhead, his mate got killed etc....i don't really expect some NOT to sing about that type of thing, as it's going to influence you as a person and as an artist.

As for "No More Eatin'" i like the album version, i think its a strong track...the version they released to single is awful though.

I actually respect his music to a degree, its simply depressing.I just found his album so difficult to get though, and full of self pity and nihilism. Also his album sleeve and cover are both ridicoulus.

He did run with the whole "paying homage to Kurt Cobain" thing to a major degree!!! Personally I find that I will be far more likely to write when in a bad mood than in a good one, so maybe that was an issue for Plan B as well? Or maybe he just didn't think there was a lot of good to write about? Hopefully a different theme or two from future work though, I will definitely agree with you there!!! :)
