Dunnes have a black LG 20inch LCD TV for €349 at tne moment. Saw them in the Galway Terryland store marked down from €499. It looks pretty slick, and is wall mountable. It's not HD ready AFAIK and is 4:3 screen, but seems like a bargain nonetheless. This sems to be the model here
Can't find a cheaper price for this online

resolution - 640x480 ... ugh couldnt even use it as a computer monitor, and 25ms is a little to high for TV, i think this thing might actually make you stop watching TV :P.

Think their 599 32inch HD tv is a bargain though. :)

oh and there is 19' widescreen lcd (monitor) with 8ms responce in argos for 209 euro... add a tv tuner box to it for about 60 quid and you have a nice hd tv. :)

Has anybody done this? Can you recomend a tv tuner box?

Looking at doing this myself at home as my tv died the other day.

have done it with a standard 19" lcd, result is good, but not great.
Tuner looks like this but didn't get one that supports widescreen res like this

If the monitor has decent colour adjustment things can be adjusted for better results, the remote on the tuner box is a bit weak, monitors are usually less bright than the good lcd tvs. This type of setup probably matches the cheap lcd tvs though
