No sign of Clubcard vouchers for XBox 360

Like alot of others in this forum, I availed of the offer on the last weekend of November where there was an up front 25% discount on the Xbox 360 along with 25% back in Clubcard points. I got my statement today and there was no sign of the €82.50 I was due in vouchers.

So did anybody else get their vouchers for the Xbox 360, or any other electrical/electronic items they bought towards the end of November?

I rang them and they said I would have to send in the receipts so they could investigate it. Has anyone else had to do this before? Is there any easier way of claiming clubcard points that you are due? e.g. maybe somebody here in Ireland rather than having to send the receipts over to Scotland.

I received my extra vouches last year for a laptop I bought which had 50% back. The vouchers came seperate to my clubcard ones. If memory serves me right, they were actually sent out by registered post.

I am not sure you are correct in your assumptions by the way. If i remember it was actually a 25% cash discount and not an additional 25% in clubcard vouchers

Here is the thread about the offer. When this offer was on, it was the first time they actually offered the discount up front rather than through the clubcard

I went for the same offer, and that weekend in question, there was 25% off cash price, followed by 25% back in money off vouchers when you used your clubcard.
    Twas a superb deal.:D

Well, that's if they follow through on the vouchers!;)

Aquos76, thanks for the info about them been sent out by registered post. Do you remember how long you had to wait for them to arrive after you got your clubcard statement?

At the time of the offer, I checked both in store and rang Tesco Clubcard support line to confirm that I would get the 25% back in clubcard points on top of the initial 25% discount.

    About a week I think.

That really was a superb offer if that indeed was the case. So on an item costing €400, you were getting €100 off straight away and then a further 75 euro back in vouchers, from the €300 which the item would have cost you.

    Yup!
Ends up costing around €240 for the xbox premium with PGR3 and a second wireless controller!!:D

You can see why they sold out so fast!

We bought an IQON laptop in TESCO as part of that deal and the vouchers arrived in the post this morning.

TarfHead, were they included with your clubcard statement, or were they sent separately?

Statement - €50 voucher x3, plus a 4th voucher for whatever the remainder was

Yup, I availed of the same offer, and the vouchers were definitely via registered post probably because of their high value.

Just received statement & no extra vouchers here either...........

I rang their clubcard number just now & was told that the 25% voucher offer ONLY cover audio gear........not Xboxes etc.

Looks like they're not going to honour the deal   .

I didnt get one but was advising others to do it. I remember reading the offer details really well at the time, and I was 99% sure it was covered, I think it actually did even say "games consoles", certainly did not say only audio gear, TVs & dvd players were definitely included. In dun laoghaire there were massive signs around a sort of separate area, inferring that everything within it was in the offer, and the xboxes were inside. In other areas I saw massive signs above items that were specifically NOT included in the offer, it was obvious that most of these items would not have been included, I think it may have been electric kitchen knives or something, if Xboxes were not included they would have had huge signs saying that. If they didnt they are absolute misleading bastards.

I always get beer with 25% off but most of the time the vouchers do not arrive until 2 statements after. This 25% electronics deal happened several times, perhaps some people got vouchers who bought early, and some will get them in the next statement.

pissed, do you have a copy of the ad? If you could scan it or photograph it and make it available to us, it would be very much appreciated. It looks like we might, as a group, have to put some pressure on Tescos in order to get them to honour this deal.

    Hopefully this will work :D

I just got €127 in vouchers from Tesco, I only got a club card because of the Xbox360 offer...

If you look at the attachment above you will see it clearly states games consoles

But did tou also get 25% off in cash price at checkout?

I remember exactly the ads running. First week it was 25% vouchers back on all electrics, which included an Xbox 360.
Following week there was certain items on offer for 25% cash off.

When I went to buy it expecting 25% cash off, the girl at the counter was telling everyone to give their clubcard or sign up for new one because they'd ALSO get 25% back in vouchers along with the 25% cash off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,781 ✭✭✭pissed

I got the instant 25% off in cash but that actual label was attached to my xbox 360 which is how I ended up with it, when I rang the clubcard line the guy said something on the lines of "oh yeah I can see they are not there" meaning my points and said he would pass it on.... he didnt actually say no your not getting them, so ill give them a buzz during the week to see how it is going.

i never got the points either, the bastids

so we each need to call to get our points?

pissed, thanks for the scan. The fact that we were told in different stores that the 25% back in vouchers applied to the Xbox 360, together with this notice will make it very difficult for Tescos to renege on the offer. It will probably just take a while. I'll try getting in contact with Chris Nolan who's name is on my February statement and see if I can get him to agree that we are entitled to the vouchers.

anyone else get a chance yet to chase this up?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,231 ✭✭✭Kramer

I spoke to someone who "seemed" to be aware of a "problem" with the xbox vouchers.............. .

She said they would be sending out "cashcards", basically cards with credit up to the amount due in vouchers. Supposed to be sent out this week, Monday & Tuesday but nothing has arrived yet.

I'll be getting back onto them on Friday if nothing has arrived by then but, TBH, I'm not holding my breath  .

Like Kramer got the same answer from a girl called Clare in customer services. Not sure about anyone else but I will make sure I get my ones by hook or by crook;) . Not sure if it was mentioned in this thread but I think the cock up was that you were always suppose to get 25% back in club card vouchers but not also the 25% of at the store. So they must of presumed we will just knock the vouchers on the head, but with Pissed's post of the promotion label they really had no argument-Cheers Pissed;)

Yeah no probs, well I rang the clubcard hotline again yesterday, got some guy called craig who told me to go to my local store and they would put the points on there and then and if they said different to get them to ring him from the shop.... its amazing all the different answers we all seem to be getting

I got registered post today from Tesco saying enclosed was a money card for €108 and there was an error in the points system.
However, there was nothing enclosed.......what do I do?

Ring the company and say it. Just don't go spending that "missing" card yourself now ;)

Yes they forgot to add in the points tag when setting up the promo so everyone who got a 360 and did not get the extra vouchers (ie, most of you) WILL have to ring Tesco customer support or Email customersupport@tesco.ie for help as they will not ring you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,781 ✭✭✭pissed

I almost forgot about this and emailed tesco during the week to explain that I still had not received my points. Got an email back from customer services saying sorry for the mix up and that a money card was in the post for me :) , did anyone else receive theirs yet ?

If you do Email em make sure you give your Club Card number too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 509 ✭✭✭butts

pissed, which email address did you use. I got an error message when I tried customersupport@tesco.ie so I used customer.services@tesco.ie but have only received an automated response.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,781 ✭✭✭pissed

yeah I had a problem with the customersupport one too, I used the customer.services one and got the automated response. Took a day or so for proper reply and the card arrived yesterday. As stated earlier make sure you include your clubcard number when you contact them and the date of purchase. Good luck

Just got a call today to say that the points have been added to my clubcard as oppose to the money card other people got. I'll get the coupons with the May statement. I checked my clubcard points balance online and they have indeed been added. Thanks to all who gave useful info.
