Anyone ever order anything from pyramydair?
I was going to buy a tactical vest the other day, but the shipping cost at the checkout was listed as free, being the nice person I am, i assumed this was wrong and emailed them to confirm shipping cost.
Their checkout lists ireland as a shipping destination, but when i emailed i got a rather un-informative reply:

my email:

Hi, I wish to order the Airsoft Deluxe Tactical Vest (Black)
Item#:LEPVC-V547BT, however when I go through the order process on your
website, the shipping is listed as free. I believe this may be an error
as the shipping is listed as USA Mail and I want to order this for
shipping to Ireland. Is this shipping price correct? If not can you
please let me know how much shipping is?

their reply:

Dear Keith,
Thank you for contacting us. We give free ground shipping for orders over $149.99 and above to be shipped within the continental United States. We are unable to ship with the Post office due to the nature of our products.

that's nice, but im not in the continental US??
so before i email them again and get an equally un-informative reply, anyone know if they ship to ireland?

Never heard of them before myself.

Perhaps they send you an email confirming the shipping cost after you place the order? You can then pay or cancel. They may not be able to put the shipping costs on the site as the cost may depend on the size/weight/quantity of the items you purchase.

yea, was thinking the same myself, which is why i emailed them first, didnt want to end up paying some ridiculous amount for the shipping

for tac vest etc... check out either opsgear or marsgear - shipping is never cheap from the states unfortunately so it pays to bunch together an all order in one go

you're also better off going for the USPS EMS delivery option if it's there - it's a few quid more but *way* faster (and i'm talking in weeks here) and trackable.

opsgear stuff is a bit more expensive than the marsgear stuff but it's top shelf kit.

i've dealt with both and it's all good.

Or buy a vest off Ehobby...mines great and cost like 60 euro.

EDIT: €60 in total btw, shipping included.

Yeah i got a Molle vest off them for 45euro incl shipping, hasnt arrived yet.

yeah, vest can be got cheap if you look around. my one was $35 on redwolfairsoft and shipping wasnt bad either.no more then $60 in total

A lot of the US compainies will not ship to Ireland due to the cost of shipping. They use UPS and DHL a lot as well. I tried to order a scope offf one and they were quoting somthing like 40e to ship it.

was gonna do that, but ehobby dont have the one i want

ive been looking around though, found another dealer on ebay that has the one i want (airsoft bay, anyone ever use them?) and airsplat have it too, was just trying to see who it would work out the cheapest to order from

Received a reply today to my email, im starting to think either the person im dealing with is really rather stupid, or it is an automated bot which is pulling generic replies from a database;

also, $48 wire transfer fee? that's the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard of!

At this point I've absolutely no intention of ordering from them, but i'm curious to see how many emails it takes for them to understand my original question and give me a shipping quote.

oh, and here's my reply:

As stated in my original mail, I have gone through the checkout process up to the point of entering credit card details, however I was not given a choice of shipping methods and the shipping was listed as free (please see attachments)

With regard payment, $48 wire transfer fee? That is outrageous, the item I wish to purchase is only $49.90! If I register on your website will you accept my payment via credit card (Visa)?

Again, could you please obtain a shipping quote for the afore-mentioned item to Dublin, Ireland?

It's a bit like UNCompany emailing me every 2 days to ask what item is missing from the package they sent me. Even though I've told them 6 times, provided a link the the item on their website, and they have already actually sent me a replacement!

And they still are insisting that I write a handwritten note stating what is missing, and fax it to them so they can make a claim against Hong Kong Post.

This is one advantage to buying from BFSL....Derek doesn't ask stupid questions over and over again.
