    or Dabs.ie have 500GB external Iomega drives for €116 (not certain that they are the 16MB drives, but it's certainly cheap.......prices have dropped twice in the last two weeks..........

    Link please.The only 500GB Iomega external harddrives I can find are €140.

    pc world are doing a deal on a 400gb freecom external drive for 130 at the moment. The hdd inside is a samsung.

    Yeah, I bought one of these a few weeks ago. Does the job - no problems.

    The PC World one looks to be good value now though!

    apologies, IE switched me back into the Business site, so the price was ex-VAT........so the cheapest 500GB there today is €140

    but the prices have dropped 3 times in the last two weeks and as the 1TB drives seem to be getting pushed more now the downward trend should continue.......

    well it looks like external HDDs have just taken a serious price tumble across the board.

    now, with all of these offers around can someone say which ones really stand out? i'm sure most of them are fine, but are some much better than the others, like maybe the mybook?

    Got the Aldi one this morning, think its a samsung hdd. Copied about 24 gigs onto it as soon as i got it and it didnt ever get warm.
