    Some Stats on Villain

Mission Ops only 14 hands 36/15/1 Show WSF 50% Won Show 50%
Scarface also 14 Hands 22/15 and no Agression or Showdown stats. I know these stats are meaningless because of the small sample but i inlcuded them anyway as thats all i had to work with at the time.

I taught about 3 betting preflop, whats your taughts on this, the reason i didnt is one villain only had 1/2 a buyin and i didnt want to build a $10 pot and then Mission Ops donks an all in bet on the flop with an overcard and i would have to act ahead of the other villain not knowing where i stand. With this in mind i decided to flat call for pot control.

Would you 3 bet here especially since the raise came from the button?

As played i have a decision to make on the flop, how do you play it and why?

Green Joke Poker Rhone 0.10/0.20, hand converted by the iPoker Converter at Talking-Poker

    Button scarfaceDE ($21.70)
    SB mission0ps ($11.95)
    BB ShaveMeShamrock ($20)
    UTG Jawkapoohs ($15.55)
    UTG+1 Jannybo1 ($12.50)
    CO Danny84 ($20)

Preflop: ShaveMeShamrock is in the BB with Jclub.gif Jheart.gif
    3 folds, scarfaceDE raises to 0.80, mission0ps calls 0.70, ShaveMeShamrock calls 0.60.

    Flop (2.40) 3spade.gif 5club.gif 5diamond.gif
    mission0ps bets 1, ShaveMeShamrock calls 1, scarfaceDE raises to 5, mission0ps calls 4, ShaveMeShamrock???

I 3 bet this all day long and especially because the raise it came from the button.
As played hmmmn, he could easily have an underpair such as eights or nines and doesn't want to see a overcard for free or he could have overpair naturally.
The guy betting and then calling doesn't look like a 5 to me.
Hmmmn I am convincing myself to push to here, sure why not, push

At 1/2 this is often a fold. Don't know about .10/.25. You played it well up until this spot anyway. Yeah I would fold.

Its a small bit divided on wheter or not 3 betting is the way to go and i havent got many replies yet so ill leave posting the results for a couple of hours and i might get a few more replies from the early birds.

Is the reasons were not 3 betting to do with what i said i.e

Short Stack and if he pushes on my 3bet it puts me in a difficult situation where ill need to push or fold preflop if he does push and the other villain flat calls.

Its very possible that the shortstack will push on the flop and if there are overcards this puts me in a horrible situation with the villain who covers me left to act

I dont want a big pot and have to play OOP against the villain who covers me

But the buttons range can be very wide here and i might get heads up with the shortstack. If i get heads up with the button i will have narrowed the buttons range which will make my flop decisions easier.

Are the reasons i give the right things to consider for and against the 3 bet or is there any other things i need to take into consderation

I prefer to call in this spot pre-flop. It hard to work out why the SB is only calling this raise as he has so little back surely he is expecting the BT to call his raise no matter what. The only reason to not raise would be to get you to call. The $1 bet is so small I think he has something pretty good here after he calls the $5. I think your behind one of them at least so I would be folding here.

I like ur play post flop and it is what il will most of the time unless trying to issolate or pick off a poor player. But I hate the way you played the flop and you have let urself get into a hard decision and to be honest noone can tell you now if you are behind or not. only thing to go on are the stakes and it can be quiet possible you are ahead. I prefer to raise the sb bet on the flop and if you then proceed to get re raise by button and call by sb you are behind obv and only cost you 4 to 5 bucks to find out.. This is also better cos the button range will become very tight.. like what can he call with with a raise and re raise and pair board. So overall post flop good. On wether I would call at those stakes prob would push but at higher stakes is a very bad play to push imo

    Result

I pushed but it was one of them decisions where i knew as i pushed i was making the wrong decision, the button had KK and i spiked a J to hit trips and the other villain folded.
