It's an excellent film actually, just not what a lot of people were expecting.

Yes its shockingly poor.Like a first year film students effort at film making.
Shoot was blighted with problems and the script was extensively redrafted .
Half of the plot seemed to be cut.

I saw it in the cinema at the Dublin film festival and didn't think it was anything special at all...

Certainly far worse stuff has received a full cinema release though.

GF made me turn it off after 20 mins, looked "unique" is the word I m thinking of.

No, it is by no means that bad. My second favourite film of the year after Science of Sleep. Lucky enough to see it in Screen 17 during the film festival. A remarkable experience, but certainly opinion splitting. Big cult following on certain parts of the interweb, massive anti-Fountain sentiment elsewhere.

nice post count johnny_ultimate... never post again and preserve it.

Oh and what was the deal with Rachael Wiez being able to see a nebula through a telescope that could be held with one hand?

It was an interesting film alright. It just didn't feel quite finished. Definitely didn't deserve the critical mauling it got.

Could be wrong here, but, I'm nearly sure I saw this listed in the UCI's times at the weekend? I remember thinking it was odd, maybe it was some kind of special showing or something???

Yep... it was shown in their 'directors chair' slot.

    Just a once off.

    Ah, that makes sense, cheers.
Still haven't seen it either and wanted to go but couldn't make that showing, I'll just have to splash out on the DVD, hope its worth it.
