Just saw that Stronger video on MTV and tbh it's horrible. I've nothing against the chap, a few of his tunes are alright but the first thing that struck me in this was the video bits. Looks suspiciously like that one...oh yeah, Akira maybe?

So he robs someone's song, then robs someone else's film, throws in a (vaguely tbh) pretty girl and then waits for the minions to eat it up.

    In short: Kanye's a tool.

Yeah Stronger is weak, especiallly for his first single.Bittersweet is quite a bit nicer though, and his new **** with Common is pretty spectacular.

How the hell is that robbing someone else's film?

It's a homage to the film, perhaps. But robbing it?

kanye has a pretty big ego and alot of his stuff does not make sense, that diamonds track had SFA about the diamond industry in the lyrics, just in the visuals, he wants to be like Talib Kwali but just is not smart enough, very very commercial, alot of commons stuff is weak to..

I think stronger is a great tune and i'm not that big a fan of kanye west in general? "robbing someone elses tune" thats an accusation you could level at every hip-hop producer under the sun. its called sampling.

    re: the song
daft punk are "featured" on the song, so it's not like he's pretending he came up with it himself.
even still, considering Daft Punk are the masters of robbing others people's tracks wholesale, sticking the vocals of someone else's track through a vocoder, combining the 2, then releasing it as their own song, i doubt they would really give a damn.
the video itself is fairly **** but when you put some nice flashy lights and supposedly cutting edge technology along side some girl with a bit of flesh and a vague story, you're pretty much guaranteed that retards will love it, not that kanye or daft punk would need said video considering their fanbases....

Evzer, if you can't differentiate between sampling and stealing, then i'm not even going to try bother absolving you of your ignorance.

daft punk only featured on the song after kanye had sampled there track, an as far as them featuring on the track, kanye sampled something they themselves sampled, so what do the really do on the track?

Some top notch getting the wrong end of the stick there. Theres a blatant sample in the tune..no? The original poster said he "robbed" someone elses tune. I pointed out that in the context he said it it was a silly accusation, as almost every producer at some time or another has used tracks entirely built on samples. Are they somehow less "thieves" then the guy assumes kanye west to be just because their samples are more obscure and arent heard by the "minions" as he says?

"Absolve" the chip off your shoulder lad.

heard that alright, apparently they'll receive no royalties from sales of the song as they thought that "featuring Daft Punk" will be much more beneficial to them....

although i do wonder how much they'd actually receive in royalties considering they sampled it themselves.....
