    metric and imperial are used for both
    charlie is still sold in ounces, bars -9oz, kilos-28oz, as is ganja
    but for minute amounts grams are used as its easier to be percise

    or so i presume anyway ;)

    Yup. They'll say it's 3.5 but it's clearly a gram. unless you buy big out here you'll be paying way over the odds. an o of crumby hash can set you back €100-€120 unless you buy a half a nine bar then it's €80.

    Apologies, you're quite right. That's me fecking up me sums again. Don't know why i thought 5g was 1/4 of an Oz. Make that €50 for about 7g.

    BTW, when i say 7g, this is the weight that's being claimed by the person selling it, and looks nowhere near as bulky as say, 7g of what you'd get in Holland.

    Another one chiming in on the 300 per Oz bandwagon....I know a few people higher up in the food chain around my area and that's what's paid, simple as; and if you get it for anything much less than 300 per, then it's probably not worth buying...

    I remember reading a health authority leaflet on ecstasy where they mentioned the street price of the drug was e12.70. This was in 2003 as well. How can you create a leaflet on a drug when you are so far removed from reality.

    In coffeeshops in holland I have seen good sativa weed at €35 per gram, and it was all sold out. Decent hash can be up to €100 a gram, that is real hash, not to be confused with "Irish hash". In holland I think the most expensive hash I saw was €60 per gram.

    Apparently high prices can actually be fairly cheap, simply due to the % of active components, like comparing 2% beer to 95% vodka.

    yeah! amidst all the euro changeover profiteering the entire bottom dropped out of the ecstasy market because it was impractical to charge the pound equivalent for small hand to hand deals, the top market price dropped from ten pounds to ten euro and the whole sale value was stable; less profit for the guy at the bottom - equal punishment no matter what he was selling - lots of them drifted into coke where, lets face it, the numbers make a lot more sense.

    i'll leave it up to you to decide how positive this was.

    Cheaper, healthier, easily available and you'd probably get more effects also.

    Passive's correct...the meaning was they don't buy one gram of weed at a time because they are good law abiding citizens and therefore don't purchase weed at all, as that wouldn't be law abiding, not because one gram of weed at a time would be legal to purchase, but were they to buy weed, which they never would, they would not be buying it in amounts that small, as people rarely do, and therefore would be unsure as to the break down value of amounts that small purchased seperatly.

    If I remember correctly when the Sligo Champion and Donegal Democrat used to report cannabis bust stories, they counted the hauls as in the amount of spliffs, so for example Mr X was caught with enough cannabis resin to make 299,000 joints, I don't know if they still do this the same way :P
