    Hi,

I've resurrected an old image and began to play with the colour, brightness, and so forth. I've two versions, before and after and would appreciate opinion as to which is the more pleasing to you.

    Before:
    C1E85987336541DDADC9EEC318B0F9F8-500.jpg

    After:
    E734C6B117D04FB2BAAC70333725C413-500.jpg

A simple before/after is fine. If anyone has a calibrated monitor could you say if the after looks too dark or is appropriately bright. Thanks folks.

I have to say After as I see a kind of orange glow on her facial skin in the before...maybe thats just me though!

I strongly dislike both of them. What's the blur all about?

Yea that blur is kinda making me dizzy.

Use the CSI plug-in for Photoshop to get rid of the blur.

    - here. have a sea sickness pill ;o)

more interested in the brightness/colours/contrast to be honest than whether anyone likes the blur or not, or the location, or the subject, or the size, or the background, or the state of the economy, or whether george bush should be in iraq <g>

i'm looking at shots on a number of screens (the result which varies bigtime) and wondered what generally worked well. apologies i should have been clearer in the original post.

    thanks.

Right so if I was to ignore the blur which ruins the shot I would say I like the 2nd one more than the 1st.

Viewing the image cropped in Photoshop and with a recently calibrated TFT
Just stand out more it has more contrast and better deeper colours.

2nd one is better but the blur should be killed off, doesn't do anything for the image at all

    Second for colours...!

    Thanks you guys.

Before posting i was of the opinion that the second had a better set of development parameters than the first and from yer comments above it would appear to be true. Hence viewed on a number of monitors it would appear 2nd is generally more acceptable (ignoring blur).

Although i didn't set out for it, Yeah, I get it about the blur too. I have to say i was unconvinced about it before i posted so this kind of confirms my doubts.

I guess i got two for the price of one!

    Thanks again,

    Cheers.
