Collected my guitar from Derrick Nelson today, over the moon with it. Would not have attempted to put this together myself as the neck wouldn't fit onto the body originally, and the frets needed levelling.

I can't recommend Derrick enough, he's awesome and a really nice guy. He even offered to give me a lift home!! although I was going the opposite way so I didn't take up the offer. :)

    Oh yeah, g-man!

on the subject of gold hardware, you should check out Optima Gold strings. 24K Gold coated strings, Brian May uses them. I do too, although on one of my basses. They look hot with the Gold hardware. :)

you can get them on http://www.saitenkatalog.de

Wow! Beautiful woods and finishes! How does it play?
Why didn't the neck fit onto the body?

    Oh my god...

I'm never talking to you again, man. Ever.

    :p

The nut is an lsr roller nut, suits me more than a floyd, and with the wilkinson tremolo it's a nice combo for tuning stability.
The neck wouldn't fit into the body with the laquer on there, so Derrick had to file the laquer slightly to get it to fit. If I had attempted that or left it with any of the shops in town to try, maybe the neck would have still been fine but I could have had a nasty crack running up through the laquer.:(

I think having some silver on there makes the rest of the gold hardware jump out a bit more too.

Got to play it for a while on Derricks retro looking Mesa amp, it sounds so sweet, and already has a real comfortable feel. Hopefully I'll get a good bit of time to play it here tomorrow.:D

    Ancient1,now you're just being mean.:p

WOW! That is real real real real nice man! I'm with Ancient!

Just a quick look at the pics again and then that's it. Oh man, that's so nice.

The completely plain headstock looks very good too. (surprisingly to me)
I'm guessing the tuners must be staggered?

Very, very nice, but you should've put it together yourself, it's not that hard.

Build another one yerself as penance :D

Thanks guys but I don't think I'm allowed any more guitars in the house for a good while.

Promise to update with pics of the other guitars early next week. ;)

just to say your case is lush too, you can't beat a tweed case with crushed velvet on the inside.

Icing on the cake Cremo, half the reason I got suckered in to buying a Peavey Classic 30 last year.

I think I'll get a case like this if I ever build Doctor J's penance guitar.:p
