I'm going to have to let everyone down by not turning up early for the launch in my mario costume. The show for the 1 act play I'm producing is on this Thursday night. Oh how I suffer for my art :(

    He's a witch!

    ...wait, how would that work?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,120 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

Does he weigh the same as a duck?

Depends on the size of the duck.

This early release -- has anyone checked if anyone can just walk in, and buy the game?
How much? (I'd find out but I'm too busy atm)

Was in there earlier today (playing Call of Duty 4 OMFGBUY) and the little sign they had said that they'll be selling it early between 6pm and 9pm. Free-for-all perhaps.

As well a getting it a day early, anyone who has either Resi4 Wii,Warioware,Zelda,Mario Party 8, or Metroid Prime 3 can trade one of them in and get Mario for just 25 quid!!!

I have Zelda...but I'm too attatched...maybe I'll wait til I finish Metroid and trade it in?? But im not sure if I can wait....

That's a bit of a crap deal in fairness... think I'll just pick it up from Smyths for €45ish.
Then again, I haven't actually touched Warioware since I completed it on release day:p

Just read the Gamecentral Review: along with Half Life 2, Total War (I think) and the Orange Box, one of only four 10/10s I can remember them ever giving, with them claiming it could easily be a candidate for best game of all time.

Hopefully Smyths Bray will go their usual way and have copies on the shelf by tomorrow evening! Don't fancy the trip into town just to pick it up, and will probably cost a lot in Game anyway.

I think Nintendo first party titles have rrp of 50 euro.

Has that ever stopped Game charging over the odds?

Is this game likely to sell out in a few minutes?
I'll be passing by around 7.30 this evening so was gonna pop in and pick up a copy.

Is it 50 euros anywhere, e.g., Game or Smyths?

I bought a copy in Smyths Naas earlier. €49.99 without loyalty card or €44.99 with loyalty card. Excellent price.

it is in Smyths. Plus I'm sure it'll be the usual 10% off with a loyalty card.

    Thanks guys :)

I bought mario and assassin's creed together in gamestop beside the ha'penny bridge (from preorder) and they gave me mario for half price. No idea why really...

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Arts Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 30,341 CMod ✭✭✭✭johnny_ultimate

According to an ad in the paper this morning Xtravision are selling it for 44.99, but when I went down they claimed it wasn't out until next week. Riiiiggghhttt. So I went up to Smyths and got it for the same price with loyalty card.

Played an hour there and boy is it fun. Big grin on my face throughout :)

Picked it up at around 9:00 in Gamestop in the Stephens Green Centre for 25euro.

Absolutely loving it, 3 hours of solid play and about 16 stars.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,561 ✭✭✭Rhyme

The leaflet just inside the door in the Stephens Green Centre outlet mentioned that the first 20 people to buy it today got a 50% discount.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 777 ✭✭✭Terminator
