Irish WW2 Milsim Event with 70 Skirmishers

Hi Guys has anyone heard of the big milsim event held last weekend down here in wicklow? I’m surprised not to see any mention of it here. My brother is in the army and has been into airsoft for years. He and guys from his unit were involved in running the event in which over 70 people took part. Groups from the UK and even some from europe. It was a World War II event with proper uniforms and even ww2 trucks and other vehicles. Some of the pictures I Have on my phone of the german and US troops look almost real.
He got me in on Saturday eve to the german HQ and it was like stepping back in time. The uniforms the weapons all correct. No modern aegs, no mix and match uniforms if you were a german, army soldier your uniform was german army even helmets, your webbing was correct and you carried a Kar 98k or a Mp40. But I got to say the elite soldiers on the german side were the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. If they had not been talking in english you would have thought you were in some field HQ in Germany back in 1944.
I,m wondering if any of you were involved with this, my brother said that places were limited due to the strict milsim nature of the event but according to him that another event next summer with a scenario based on modern US UK and Enemy forces will be open to the General airsoft community and I’m definitely in for that one, got my ACU and M4 ready to go.

sounds like a cool event, but is this another piss take from some eejit re-registering over and over? if it is then its very childish, if not then it sounds like a great day out but surely we would have heard about this before if its not another trolling attempt,.,

Heh, I highly doubt something of that scale would have gone unnoticed by the many regular airsofters here, and we would have heard something about it well before it happened. There are a good few very interested in WWII, and MilSim.

    thinking, glen of imaal, maybe?

    :cool::cool::cool:

im from wicklow and havent heard a peep about this! maybe it's BS

Unless this was a military op only thing then I'm calling shenanigans.

Firstly, if it were an international event surely someone would have seen something about it posted on some forum somewhere by someone.

Secondly, if your brother was into Airsoft for years and owned equipment, military or not he was breaking the law since Airsoft was only legalised in August 2006.

Can you provide a website, photos or any evidence of it at all?

And thirdly, SS dressed in black and looking like a field camp from 1944? I thought the SS had given up the 'ol black uniforms long before 1944? Unless they were panzer crews, but even they were using camoflauge uniforms by '44.

prob not the same fella, but i rekon its still bullsh*te.,

The all black uniform was never a field uniform. The field uniform was always feldgrau.

think the IP is linked to the internet connection aswell though? i googled it and havent come up with anything in relation to such an event though,., cant even get that many airsofters at hrta let alone some underground hush hush event down the country.,

"Wicklow" isnt quite the the countryside. I live there. Believe me, there are places you could conceivably do something like this, even do it and get away without being noticed. But not for long. And certainly not in the ways that are being suggested by this.

    I demand photos!!!

Panzer crews used to wear black, so I wasnt sure if this was what he meant. But yeah, a black uniform in the field doesnt make sense

yeah but with the mention of a group comming from britain aswell i thought their would at least be a mention of it somewhere and that someone in this airsoft community would have heard something., id love to see photos aswell, strange coincidence that there was germans at a time when we have a few controversial threads on the same topic.,

The original poster of this thread has been in contact with me via pm about this thread.

Firstly, I would like to point out again, this is not the same user as osok/SniperWolf.
osok has pm'd me to request that I point this out because he feels he is being blamed for all this contreversy over ww2 threads, he started a thread to ask about forming a team based on a ww2 theme and unfortunately it has opened a pandora's box on the subject

I hate to think that we've possibly driven away osok and others from having an interest in airsoft because of all the politics going on here the last few days.

Secondly, i too am skeptical about the existence of this event, now i realise we don't know everything about what goes on, but i find it difficult to believe nobody knows nothing about this event except for the OP, i'm remaining skeptical about this event until i see some proof

sounds more like a re-enactment event than a a mil sim one to me.
