    Hi,

Has anyone else pre registered for this race and if so have you received your number yet? If you are meant to pick it up on the day does anyone know where to go and what time to collect it from. Its strange there has been no contact from the club Liffey Valley that are oragnisin it and that there has been nothing posted on the website aprt from the application form and the course map

Hi, I've never bothered pre-registering for it, they usually have a sign on tent by the race start somewhere near fruze rd/main rd junction. I wouldnt worry about it, just show up early enough to registration and they should sort ya out.

Was out on the course last 2 days. 2 days ago beautiful, sunny, calm; yesterday awful, terrible wind, cold, raining. Fingers crossed...

Your race number must of got lost in all the xmas post as you should have received it by now. Ask for a liffey valley offical before the race and somone will give you another race number. The man in charge is the friendly and famous Nick Davis who is well known for his Father Stone style commenting at the graded meet series as the commentator

best of luck in the race

    From www.athleticsirleand.ie

Damian Bateman takes the honours in the Phoenix Park

Mullingars Damian Bateman won the Tom Brennan Memorial 5K Race in the Phoenix Park this afternoon (Jan 1st).
Damian home on holidays from the USA where he is completing a PHD in Civil Engineering had seven seconds to spare on Richard Corcoran, another man home from the States and David Rooney moving into senoir status for the first time a close up third.
In ideal conditions with little or no wind DSD’s John Eves was the first to attempt to put his mark on the race. As they came down the Main Road for the first time Richard Corcoran had his Raheny clubmate David Rooney in close attendance with Bateman content to bide his time. With 800 metres to go Bateman moved ahead and had seven seconds to spare at the finish.
“Doing a PHD keeps you busy” was Damian’s response after the race ” running is not a priority and I am very happy with my run to-day”.
Annette Kealy was always ahead in the womens race and had an untroubled run to finish 24 seconds clear of Civil Service’s Lorainne Manning with Deirdre McDermott in third.
