I'm really thinking about applying to this course too. I know it's much smaller than the BIS in Cork, so the NUIG one is 25 places according to Qualifax which would have it's advantages and disadvantages http://www.qualifax.ie/?Mainsec=courses&Subsec=course_details&ID=2779&CSH_ID=4

Some companies like Accenture seem to love getting business consultants (at decent pay) from that course in Cork so if it's anyway as good as it then it could be the way to go. I'm guessing that the first Year and a half of coursework is rubbish and it starts getting interesting after that.

I'd like to hear what the students have to say about the course.

I only done first year of the course but it was for most parts ok. There were about 30 in the class. Some easy subjects and some hard that need plenty of working at, especially accounting!! There are advantages aswell such as having your own computer lab and a good learning environment.

I'm in First Year BIS at the mo.
Theres about 35 on the course, which is really good because you get to know everyone and have a laugh during tutorials.
The BIS facilities in NUIG are excellent too.

As redmosquito said, you really need to work at the Accounting from day one, as its probably not the best taught subject around.
But all the BIS subjects are really well explained, and the lecturers are all sound and approachable.
The workload isn't too heavy either. Most of it is done during class with someone there to give a hand if needed.

As a whole, this is a brilliant course for anyone who is interested in how computers can work for business.
