    Hi All,

My Father is looking at buying a flatscreen TV, but doesn't want a monster size screen (although that could be my Mother's conditions :)). I've been down to their house to measure up what they were thinking and they reckon about 26-inches would be what they were looking for. I'd have to agree. If they went for a 40' or 50', they'd have to be sitting in the neighbours house to watch it (and 1080p is not that important).

He's a little tech Savvy, but I don't want them to get stung buying a lemon that will be obsolete or not up to the job, so if anyone has any input, that'd be greatly appreciated.

They seem to have settled on the idea of a Sony KDL-26T3000

They only have Analogue TV (Aerial), so most broadcasts will be in SD - Sports, Soaps and Movies on DVD.
    - How well does this handle SD Broadcasts?
    - How about fast moving pictures (sports / action sequences, etc.)?

If anyone has experience with this model or knows of anywhere where you could pick one up at a good price, that would be great. Thanks.

Sorry dont know much about the Sony. But I have a similar sized LCD tv its a dell w2600 and i have to say its very good hooked up to sky. but on analogue/Arial it does look a bit Crappy.

Dvd are very good as well.

As most other guys will probably tell you here if you main Feed/Signal in is not Great, the lcd wont show it too well.

But at that size I dont think there is anything other than LCD.

    Confused?

Not too confused so far. I know some TVs (usually bigger, name brands) have image processing that helps with SD programming. Among them, I have heard Sony Bravia are guite good.

I don't know if that's only certain models. I've heard that LG or Panasonic can also be good at this sort of thing for this size screen. I thought I'd try and look for input of a few experts here on Boards.

Dad seems pretty set on the Sony. Again any input or advice is greatly appreciated.

Hey, the other half just bought a KDL-32T3000 and it's great so far. Now I'll admit we haven't tried to source in TV stations yet but the picture quality is spot on and there's no blurring that I've noticed with fast movement.

I have the 26s300 and the only difference is the T has higher contrast, and a wider viewing angle. The S for some reason has more features in certain areas, like rgb scarts and automatic aspect selection.

So based on my model, which I am very happy with, The T seems likes a good choice. But the S isn't as good as CRT over an aerial connection.
