Eric Cressey (of t-nation, Men's Health, Magnificent Mobility fame) will be coming to Ireland to give a two-day seminar on 15th & 16th March. Attached is the seminar details along with the application form and i you've any further Q's just drop me a PM.

Eric is a good guy and a great coach, the seminar won't just be aimed at coaches, it's for anyone who takes their fitness seriously and wants to bring their knowledge about mobility and stability, corrective and prehab training and training plan design to the next level.

Hell, the guy deadlifts 650lb (295kg) raw at <190lb...

Ah now Roper don't be like that. In your defense I was the initial tit and I started the thread minus the attachment, but edited it in. So your only a little tit and I'm a big one.

He is giving a 2 day seminar over 3 days? edit - the pdf dates are 15th and 16th, not 16-18th.

He does realise St.Patricks day is March 17th right?

Tullymore on Paddy's weekend trying to convince a man who hasn't had a cheat mean in 8 years to drink Guinness. I gotta hand it to ya :D

I presume he is flogging one of his latest DVDs. Has anyone used them and are they any good? These guys certainly have an unbelieveable web profile.

The Magnificent Mobility DVD is excellent in fairness. I use the excercises at virtually every session and my flexibility and comfort has gone way up.

He does what he advertises on the tin - for athletes and fitness folk who are looking to take care of their bodies and learn how to maximise their training abilities he'll most certainly help you get there. I worked under him for four months last year and flew to Boston for a weekend of training and it really helped me to better understand my physiology better in realtion to training and how it was being affected by various stresses I was putting it under.

Much like anything in this game I use his stuff as an "acessory" to my lifting now. I need to go back to basics to lift heavy sh!t and I'll go elsewhere for advise on that, but having learnt more about how to prevent injury and rehab myself if something does go wrong I feel like I'll be doing it with a long-term (and therefore long lifting career) view in mind?

rofl, ah it was worth it. When I told friends I was going to Boston the initial reaction was "ooooh shopping!!". I don't think they ever did believe me when I said I'd be in the gym for those three days. It was cool to hang out with Eric and Tony Gentilcore though, both genuinely lovely guys (/end shameless name-dropping). Eric has a few days here before the seminar so the plan is to get a days' training in here too; I may just bring him to a Jackie Skelly's just to see the look on his face :D

No, but it gets equally good reviews as the MM DVD. From what I can tell it's a pretty good all-rounder book that helps atheltes train year-round and gives you plans for lifting and training both on- and off-season.

Just a quick question. Is he primarily based towards powerlifting or is he pretty generic, like can it be adapted for all sports/training?

The bias is definitely not on powerlifting at all, in fact if it was pure competitive PLing training you wanted I'd probably point you elsewhere. He's more of an all-rounder, so if you PL for "fitness" rather than to compete he's great.

No I'm not a powerlifter, I do a bit of lifting for fitness and my sport. I teach it too, so I'd be interested to see how it would help in that regard. I'll do a bit a research on it. Would be interested in a seminar possibly at some stage, but I'm afraid on Paddy's weekend, I'll only be lifting one type of weight, and it won't be heavy but there will be a helluva lotta reps :D

Yeah, I'm not convinced it's great timing myself but anyhoo...

Eric has a blog that he updates almost daily, that'll give you a good idea of what he's about.
