Any open signups left for a tri. in the w/s in july?

A long shot I know, but did the Joey as an experiment, and am regretting not
signing up for at least 1 more olympic this year.

The problem is that July really is the only month I can do another one.
    August and sept. are out.

I know it's late, I was just wondering does anyone know first hand if any of them in the west/south are still open?

And yes, I know I could contact the individual tri-clubs. That's my next step, if I don't get anywhere here.
    Cheers.

mourne is very beginning of august.

July is not an olympic distance race usually

Thanks tunney - the problem is herself is due the start of August, which puts paid to the end of july (maybe) Aug. and the start of sept. at least

but if Mourne is still open I'll have a look.

Just looking at it now Hardy
Dates seem to suit. And 44 entries left......
The idea of keeping up all that training though.........

And now I need a tri-suit and a tri wetsuit

You will need a wet suit but for Joey Hannon I just wore tri shorts and a technical running top (same one I did the marathon in-my lucky top! :D ). So a tri suit wouldn't be absolutely necessary.

I'll be marshalling for that race so I'm praying for good weather as well!

While it's a tough course, it is meant to be absolutely beautiful. The scenery can help take your mind off the hills.

the misses is due... that shouldnt be a problem...

In 06, the first year I did Kilkee I got a lift down with a guy in my club to the race... The race was on saturday his wife was due on the Monday. We left Dublin at like 5am flew down there, did the race, and drove back straight after... What a legend! Barely seen the guy since, so I guess his wife cracked the whip after that episode.

so cunnins?, you don't need a wetsuit for open-water swimming..... ?
You must be made of harder stuff than the rest of us;)

It's one of the things I like about the OW swimming scene in Ireland. Us wetties are allowed take part in most races. In some places you're not a proper swimmer if you use a wetsuit.

Nah, not that hard, although i am from da northside! ;) Got myself a cheap windsurfing wetsuit and it's the sole cause of my poor swimming. I swear......:p

Actually I remember being told the same thing when I was going to do the kilkee bay swim last year. I turned up 3 weeks in a row for it to be put off, the fourth I had a wedding.

I was advised I could use some vaseline, but I think I'd need a tub per limb to make any difference to that cold.
