    Hi there,
I sold a phone on Ebay to some chap in the USA. He wanted it flashed to have the Greek language on it, so I did all this no probs. Sent it over, he said it was all working fine but then I got this:
hello again, the phone is working great but the only thing i have a problem with is sending mms/picture messages and sometimes recieving them. i called sony ericcson and they said because the phone is from ireland i need the setting from you to input them into my phone to see if it wil then work. so what i am asking for from you is if you know the mms settings for the phone? i would really like to get this to work and sony ericcson said they cant do anything and the wirless service provider i have cant do anything either. so can you please help. also another question i have is if i reset the phone to see if that would work would that erase the greek language from it? talk to you soon

Would anyone have any idea with this? I'm clueless :o

I see my mms server is http://mmsc.mms.o2.ie:8002

then it has an "o2 active" internet profile aswell with proxy settings etc.

What info do I need to give this guy would anyone know?

    Any feedback appreciated :)

If he is using the phone in the US then obviously its unlocked. Therefore he needs his own carrier to give him the MMS settings. Tell him to ring up his operator again and get them to send him the settings for MMS.

From what I know about phones resetting it won't get rid of anything thats been flashed on the phone like the Greek language.

I thought the same about the phone resetting alright so that's good to know.

See the way he says "and the wirless service provider i have"? Does he just mean USA's equivalent to o2 etc, or do they have a different system over there where it's not connected the same way to the network as it would be here? Therefore meaning they don't have the same mms settings?

sony are talking out their asses as are his network. What he needs is the mms settings for his network. He's effectively calling you so that you can go to his network's website and get the settings sent to him.

tell him that he either needs to go to his network's website or the sony ericsson website and get the settings for his network and model sent to his phone in a configuration message

he gets the settings from AT&T T MObile or what ever carrier he's on over there, it isnt your fault . This happens if you have an 02 phone and you use vodafone in it your going to have to change settings in it! His carrier gives him the settings not u;)

Surely if he logs onto Sony Ericsson , he can get the settings there.

I needed to download some files from SE to get my phone to handle MMS,and push mail, its a free service and they send you the file.

You just select your country, the carrier, the phone and your number and tada...they send you the config files direct to your phone for FREE.

The narrower a man’s mind, the broader his statements.

Hmmm, just had a look at the SE site and the k800i doesn't seem to be in the list of phones. Is it not supplied to the US or something?

Ok, seems that you have to go to Europe>Ireland to see the K800i, and then from there you can select the US and the US provider.
