I'm looking to see a psychologist in Dublin (city centre pref) about insecurity, self esteem issues etc, but I don't know where to go. I've tried googling but there are a lot of options and I don't really know where to start. Can anyone make any recommendations?

    Thanks

Ask your gp for a reference.

try a cognitive behaviour therapist. they'll work with you to change your outlook on life and yourself. As a psych student this always appealed to me from what i read about in research

Also remember you know more about you then anyone else so don't be afraid to take counsel with yourself and respect your own wisdom and your own thoughts on what you need to do to help yourself with these issues.
Everybody struggles with these things sometimes. Life isn't an easy journey.:)

    Hi there,

I have the name of a really good counsellor. I have used her personally. You may experience a month or so wait but she is worth it. If you cannot wait, she will be able to recommend someone suitable for you. I trust this woman with my life.

Please set yourself up with a temporary account and PM me for details. thanks.x

Hi OP, I got your PM but cannot reply to it as it says that you 'do not wish to receive PM's' etc etc. If there is a function in the CP settings about receiving PM's will you check/uncheck relevant box so that I can reply? Thanks.

You can access your local HSE psychology services free through your GP.
Psychological Society of Ireland psihq.ie has lists of private psychologists.

CBT therapists: 1. babcp.com - Find a therapist - Republic of Ireland 2. Irish Council for Psychotherapy psychotherapy-ireland.com

Remember, a psychologist who suits one person may not suit another. Check out their qualifications, and talk to them on the phone to see if you might get on with them.

    Good luck!

    Hi,
I'm in a similar situation as the OP. Can anyone give me good recommendations?
    Are hypnotherapists helpful?

    Thanks.
