    What's the best way to prevent scarring after removing a piercing? I've just removed my navel piercing and don't want an ugly scar!

    It will leave a small fistula behind which will diminish in appearance over time. You can help it by applying vitamin e oil or bio oil. other than that just wait really :-/

    I took mine out about four months ago. I kept up the salt soaks (about twice/three times a week with the standard mild soloution) and applied bio oil regularily. It's nearly totally faded now and no-one would know I had it pierced unless I told them.
